Guest tootalloutdoors
Last night while grunting and rattling I had a "very" loud grunt in responce. It was just a two sylable thing. Kind of like "EERR-AUUGHT"!!! Has any one ever heard extremely loud grunting before? I could not make that kind of volume or forcefullness from my true talker if I had to.. Tominator
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night Can't remember and really loud stuff sitting here now. Snort wheezes are pretty loud. I've heard a few of those. My buddy heard one last week. His comment was "it was so loud and scary, I was glad I was up in my stand and not on the ground...." PAbowhunter4life
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night I have heard bucks grunt extremely loud before. Most of the time it is when they are hounding does. And by loud I don't just mean loud, I am talking LOUD. The first time I ever heard a buck chasing a doe he was grunting, like someone said, louder than I could ever possibly blow my call, and I won't lie, I had absolutely no clue what it was lol. It sounded like an extremely loud ****ed off pig. I have also heard them grunting loudly where it was a non stop drawn out. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and they sounded like a dirt bike or something. Straight Shooter
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night I've heard this in Ohio last year. I could have swore that a hunter going bad wrong on a grunt tube was near me. Turned out to be a bruiser of a buck. Heard it again this year. Those are the dominant bucks and are making every other deer know they are in the area.

buckee
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night [ QUOTE ] Maybe it was a bullfrog? I have never heard a buck grunt...so I dont know. [/ QUOTE ] Actually they sound very similar to a bullfrog, but once you have heard one, you can tell the difference after that. There are two grunt calls that deer make. One is the ol' aggressive buck grunt that can vary in tone and length, and the other is a low gutteral grunt sound (communication call) that is made by both the bucks and does while feeding etc. The does is slightly higher pitched than the buck, and sound very similar to a frog.. axman
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night Could have been sasquatch ..If i heard any of these sounds in the woods i would for sure poop me pants.. This is the largest collection of Bigfoot sounds on the internet. Many of these recordings have never been available to the public before; they are from my private files and are not available anywhere else. I have digitized these recordings in MP3 format especially for this library, and have cleaned up several of the recordings. Additional sound files, including NEVER BEFORE HEARD recordings and the complete Snohomish audio files are available in the Oregonbigfoot.com members section. Membership is just $4.95 per month. Sierra Growl 156 kb This growl/whistle combination was recorded in the High Sierras in California by Alan Berry, 1978. The complete CD collection of the sounds recorded in that area is available at Ron Morehead's website: www.BigfootSounds.com Estacada Call 394 kb A whooing sound recorded by witness Dave Cleveland on his property after a 1972 sighting in Estacada, OR. This is currently the oldest clip in our library.* Puyallup Screamer 144 kb In 1973, there were several sightings in a gravel pit in Puyallup, WA. These sounds were recorded by Mr. Marlin Ayers. You can hear birdsong, and a train whistle in the background. Known as the Puyallup Screamer, this creature's vocalizations terrorized the residents of the neighborhood* (Thanks to Ron Schaffner for the information on the Puyallup Screamer) Snohomish Screams 648 kb Snohomish, WA 1978-79 - These sounds were recorded by L.W. She was our neighbor's friend, and our creature encounters were occurring at about the same time in the state of Washington, 50 miles apart. L.W. sat on her porch nightly with her little dog as these screams came from the gravel pit near her house. She recorded the sounds for a total of 9 months. This particular recording shows the frequency and intensity of the sounds well. It is very similar to the Puyallup screams above, and the Klamath screams below, one of three nearly-identical recordings made in three different places over a 20-year period!* Snohomish Whistles 823 kb Another clip from the Snohomish recordings, 1978. This recorded sequence of whistles is the only one of its kind, and demonstrates well why the Wild Woman (Dsonoqua or Tsonokwa) is depicted in Native American art with pursed lips. * The mask at right is available for purchase here. Klamath Screams 454 kb This clip, recorded at night by a researcher in the Klamath area of California in 1993, is eerily similar to the Puyallup and Snohomish screams, although MUCH clearer. It is, to date, the cleanest recording of a purported Sasquatch vocalization. Editor's note: John Freitas of BlueNorth.com researched this event, located the witness and digitized the recording. More information can be found on John's website: www.bluenorth.com Ohio Calls 122 kb These sounds were recorded by Matt M. in late fall of 1994, in the wooded hills of Columbiana County, Ohio, near the Ohio River. While many think it is a barred owl, two ornithologists and one Illinois state wildlife surveryor have provided feedback on the recording. None could identify the howl. There is a dog barking, and a barred owl responding at the end of the recording. Westmoreland PA Moans 248 kb Westmoreland County, PA 1973 - A recording of a creature moaning after being fired upon. For more info on the 1973 Bigfoot/UFO sighting flap, see Stan Gordon's site *Indicates a recording ONLY available on OregonBigfoot.com If you'd like to be notified when this section is updated, please subscribe to the OregonBigfoot.com newsletter. Guest tootalloutdoors
Re: \"VERY\" loud grunt last night Hey folks. I'm not wondering "what" it was. It's just that the volume was surprising to me. I didn't draw a sasquach/bigfoot tag. And "fairies"are protected here in Montana. Even though committing "fairy" acts in public is illiegal also, we still can't legally shoot them. Shoot, shovel, and shut-up!! It's not illegal unless you get caught.
