maddhunter Posted November 20, 2005 Report Share Posted November 20, 2005 The deer are rutting very hard right now in my area of Oklahoma, opening day of our 16 day rifle season. We got this 130 pound, 13 inch spread, 8 point this evening about 4:00. He was with 2 does. They took his jaw bone at the check station and guesed him at 3 1/2 years old. We weren't in the stand for more than 30 minutes when the does got run off the ajoining property by cows and all of a sudden this buck stepped out. My son seen him before I did. I was repositioning my daughter so she could see the does. When I seen the buck I asked them if they could see him. They said yes and I replied hold your ears. I got a double lung shot and he was down within 50yrds. We began with the high fives and hugs. They thought it was as awesome as I did. If we had of been on video you would have thought we just killed the next world record. To us, we did!!! This is my first deer with all three of us together.
