The omega got its first two deer kills this weekend. The .308 may have officially been retired. Shooting 100 grain loose 777 FFg, 200 gr shockwaves. Took the first doe at 20 yards, she walked maybe 20 yards with blood running out both sides, lungs and liver. She died directly under my stand. Bad shot placement on my part. The second doe was 150 yrds with the range finder. Double lung heart shot. Fell Dead in five yards. I have spent some time perfecting and zeroing my loads and it paid off.

Re: first kills with Omega

when reading on the forums about bullet weights, it seems alot of guys opt for the heavier sabot round. The lightest I hear most guys using is 240 or 250. I was a little concerned using the 200. The exit holes were nice wide holes on both deer. On the smaller doe I did find one splinter of brass inside her. From these 2 deer I think that shot placement is the key.
