billkay
Finally broke down and bought a video camera. A JVC GR-D270. Seems easy enough to film, but what about transfering the video to the PC? I am running XP and have Windows Movie Maker already installed. Is this any good or should I look into an after market program? Studio and Nero are 2 programs I hear regularly. Supposed to be very intuitive. Adobe Premiere is top of the line but isn't to easy for the novice.
smallmunster
Re: Video Editing??? I have windows movie maker installed as well and have only used it once, just to try it out. I found it to be pretty painful to use after using studio. For the money Studio is pretty hard to beat and pretty easy to use. I can't swing Premiere and probably wouldn't use most of the extra features anyway. Nero is a cd/dvd burning application that is very popular and is often packaged with burners when you buy them. Studio will burn to a cd/dvd as well but I have had better luck with Nero and it seems to be faster and has a lot more options.
ksdeerhunter03
Re: Video Editing??? Billkay, I edit video and photography for a living. I use Apple stuff at work, and premeire pro at home... That said, I would reccomend that you figure out exactly what you want to get out of the videos, are you just going to put them how you filmed them onto dvd? Are you wanting to edit them? [email protected] if you have questions

Bownarow
Re: Video Editing??? I am also in need of advice on video editing. I am looking for a way to cut and combine clips from multiple hunts onto one tape. I will also want to add in visual and audio effects if possible. Any advice on software/hardware would be appreciated. All of my tapes are either 8mm, or Mini-DV
