You just bought that stand! I use the Goliath X5, and I love the bar that wraps around! Peace of mind mostly. But I heard of people not liking it for bowhunting. It doesn't bother me, I practiced shooting close to the tree.

birddog
Re: Climbing Stands Hey guys, I've been looking at the Viper: I am not a fan of heights, and I like ot have something in front of me....as I shake in a ladder stand, when I stand! Looking at the pics of the Python that Harvdog posted, it looks like a good option to...and cheaper: Any comments on the difference between the two? I just want to feel safe...even if I only climb to 15 feet.....
wtnhunt
Re: Climbing Stands Have the summit python climber. Really like the climber and use it for most of my bowhunting. Primarily use my ladder stands for the gun seasons.
LifeNRA
Re: Climbing Stands I have this, Now I only weight 190 pounds and stand 5'10". I bought this climber because of that bar, and I like the weight limit it has, 350 pounds! I feel very safe in this climber, along with a safety vest!!! This is my first year hunting from a tree, I usually go up about 20-25 feet. The seat is way comfortable, actually too comfortable. I dozed in it a few times! But with my SAFETY VEST on, and the strap tight as I sit I wouldn't go anywhere!
bowhtr1
Re: Climbing Stands I use two summit revolutions and one ol-man multivison. I use 5 climbing sticks with 5-lockon stands also. I also have 3 tripod stands and 6 ladder stands. I need more stands.

Bond
Re: Climbing Stands Does everyone have a summit???????? I have a API bowhunter. It's ok I guess, excpet it's not very quiet. I want to get a Gorilla (ol' man) climber because I left my API out in the woods too long and squirrels like the taste of the seat.
Bushman
Re: Climbing Stands Another option you might be interested in is the Summit 180. You can sit in front of the tree or have the tree in front of you. Great camo and a solid rest. Pricey though!

It is the first one I have owned so I haven't tried any other brands.
