Strut10
I loaded up 5 rounds for my newly accurized Model 70. I was fixing to start the barrel break-in yesterday. Well...........in checking the cartridges' OAL in the magazine I found something out. The rifle won't feed. The mag holds 3 rounds. The first one will feed. The next one may feed. Or it may come up too far and bring the third one with it. If the second round does feed right......the last one will always come up at too steep an angle and jam into the top inside of the reciever. I called the smith this morning. He said he'd look at it and tell me what the problem is. But the gun (since it's new & unfired) will most likely need to go back to Winchester if it's anything more than a simple fix. He said if it involves him machining any metal, my warranty will be down the drain. Crap.

AJ
Re: Newest toy BACK to the smith\'s............. May just have a follower problem. Did you shoot the gun anyhow in single shot to see how it shoots? Personally, once I give the gun a look over and have a successful test fire, I don't really care about the warranty. If I don't like the trigger, it gets replaced. I would just make sure your smith knows his stuff about making bolt guns feed before he machines the rails. David_218
Re: Newest toy BACK to the smith\'s............. You might check all the stock screws to see if they are properly tighten. The front should be real tight as well as the rear screw. The middle screw should be snug not tight. Hope this helps!
hutchies
Re: Newest toy BACK to the smith\'s............. If it was new and unfired he would not be machining on it if it was me. I would send it back.
