Guest ronin
I put my Omega through some paces today getting ready for ML Elk up in Idaho. I decided to work the PB's and the Shockwaves with both PyroDex and 777. I was using 150 Gr of each and shooting at 100 yards off hand with the fiber optics sights the Omega comes stock with. As I noted before, the Shockwaves kept a little tighter group and were closer to zero. The PB's were all several inches low. My groups averaged about 6" with the Shockwaves and about 7-8" with the PB's. Pretty good for both actually, considering I was shooting standing up with no shooting sticks. I was expecting some difference with the POI when I switched powders but there really was none. I was pleasantly surprised, because I really like the 777 when it comes to cleaning and loading after a shot. This is especially true with the Shockwaves as they are tough to load to begin with. There a bugger after 2 or 3 shots!! The other difference was the recoil. The 777 seemed to have a stouter kick? Aanyone else have experience with that? Guest ronin
Re: PB\'s, Shockwaves, 777 & Pyro I should have described it better, yes, pellets. Sharper is a good description. I also forgot to add, that I got a bloody nose from it as well. My thumb hit me right across the bridge of the nose! Needless to say, I moved my thumb to the right side of the wrist for the follow-up shots!
too_pointer
Re: PB\'s, Shockwaves, 777 & Pyro Well, pyrodex and 777 pellets are equal. I have shot both and never seen the difference. With that load they both boot you back Shooting off the bench like mentioned, always seems punishing. Maybe there is a difference, I just never seen it !! too_pointer
