Tom2008
I need some help figuring out what kind of gun to use. My cousin said I could use his .280 pump rifle if I wasn't able to get enough money for my own gun. Would this gun be good for hunting in Montana? Thanks for any help. Tom2008
Re: Going to Montana Next Year Mule Deer/Whitetail and I know were in some pretty open country but shots should be from 150-250 yards.
G-Daddy
Re: Going to Montana Next Year I've used a 25-06 on a couple of MT hunts. Shot two mule deer and two antelope. Great performance on deer sized game. I recommend it.
WABS
Re: Going to Montana Next Year I just came back from hunting in the NW corner of the state and the guide I hunted with wanted you to have a 30 caliber rifle with at least 180 gr bullet, but we were hunting elk as well as deer. Shots in the 300-400 yard range weren't beyond the realm of possibility
