Re: Shot size for geese???

Kent fasteel 3inch or 3 1/2 inch 1's will do the trick. I have never wasted my money on the expensive steel. I believe they made that heavy shot and kent matrix for sky busters. Anything beyond 40 yards shouldn't be shot at anyway. 1's work excellent though, have more pellets and they seem to pattern a little better give them a try you won't be dissapointed.

ok guys--I just purchased a box of 3.5" #1--if a Canada dares to show it's head around me there's going to be some blasting.

thanks for the advise

That should do the trick. I usually shoot 3" BBs for geese but last year in IL we were calling them in so close...and I mean really close...I shot #2s. cool.gif

Well around here if you are shooting at ducks and geese on a local marsh at more than 40 yards trust me it isn't a pretty site. Besides if you can't get them in any closer then maybe you have something wrong with your spread or need to work on the hunting skills a little more or maybe they just are not going to come in.

for ducks i use 31/2 #2 and for geese i use remington nitro heavy shot in a 31/2 bb or bbb. these shells are by far the best. they drop em dead. they hit harder than a ton of bricks. The draw back is they run about $25 for ten.

since when did they make hevi shot in bbb? if so i gotta find some of that haha
