dg
Re: A more accurate electoral map. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Do you look hard for work persistantly? Do you try hard to pick up extra money by working overtime or at least ask for it? Almost seems to me that you in some way expect work to come looking for you and for it to be something that YOU LIKE. Here in the real world you might just have to suck it up and do a job that you dont like. Have had plenty of jobs I did not enjoy, but you got to do what you got to do and waiting expecting for someone else to take care of it for you will be waiting for a long time. From what I can tell from what you yourself have said right here in these forums you likely work less than 20 hours a week. [/ QUOTE ] I don't even know why I bother anymore, I wish people would read everything instead of reading into everything. I work 40 hours a week and I like my job. I get overtime when overtime is approved because I work for a college that likes to spend money on everything but security. I have no desire to look for another job because even though I don't get paid much I like my job and I get free tuition which in turn leads to GI Bill money. I don't know why I have to keep explaining this, probably because nobody friggin listens. [/ QUOTE ] You are right. We don't care. We are immuned to your whining. slugshooter
Re: A more accurate electoral map. [ QUOTE ] So your gross at under 10 grand a year is under $192 a week. At 40 hours that is under $5 an hour. Burger flippers make more than that here. [ QUOTE ] I have no desire to look for another job [/ QUOTE ] Showing quite a bit of ambition there buddy. Sorry if it was me and I was worried about supporting myself I would not be complaining about it if I was not out looking to find better. [/ QUOTE ] Not that it's any of ya'lls business, but I'll go ahead and explain, well, I started this job in mid February at part time of 6 bucks an hour, was getting close to 40 hours a week with overtime sometimes, went full time in late June and went to 6.50 an hour but then a week and a half later I fractured my foot so I had to go on workers comp which means I wasn't getting crap for income which the GI Bill helped alleviate some of that and I've only within the last month and a half or so went back to working 40 hours a week, on a limited duty schedule if you must know, which is getting old cause I am tired of being cooped up in a little guard shack. As far as not looking for another job, well, getting free tuition is a plus in keeping me there plus the fact that I am getting the GI Bill helps a little. So go ahead, twist that around and say I am whining and blaming the President for it cause apparently thats the only come back any of you can think of even though I never say it. buckee
Re: A more accurate electoral map. Slugger, you keep putting your neck on the chopping block bud ...why? You need to marry a rich girl, or at least one who has a great paying job, to subsidize your income, until you decide you'd like to change jobs. I hope school gets you something better in the future.... It's a struggle for all of us. Heck, I don't know what would happen to us, if my wife wasn't working now. She never used to have to work, not too many years ago, but she has to now. Life's a struggle bud, even in the land of the FREE. Complaining about it, doesn't change a darn thing. We all have to take the bull by the horns and try to make our own way in life...it ain't easy, that's for sure. Sometimes circumstance does play a big part in failure and success, but it's always hard work that eventually keeps us all going. I've had bad breaks in employment all my life it seems, but I just keep trodding on, it's the only way. I was a logger for about 11 years, and decided I wanted to be a commercial fisherman. when I made the switch, I had no idea that the logging and the fishing industry, would both go for a dive. I really wanted, at one time to get my own boat, but the fishing industry went for a loop, so I got a job with the government, working with the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans, working on the enforcement ships as a deckhand. That lasted 5 years, until a newly elected LIBERAL government made a bunch of government spending cut-backs and sliced the fisheries throats. Now, even to this day (and that was over 14 years ago) we have very poor enforcement in the fisheries. I lost my job, due to those cut-backs as many did, who were much more qualified than I was. There were Captains, first-mates, second-mates and engineers who also got phased out on that one. I started painting for a friend of mine after that, because there was not much else for outdoor work that I was qualified at (sure wish I stayed in school, while I had the chance). Now I have my own painting business, but I still make under $30,000 per year. Work my butt off in the summer and starve in the winter...LOL, but between my wifes income and mine, we manage to make ends meet. I don't have any RRSP's saved up for retirement, but that's my own fault for not buying into a retirement plan when I was younger and making better money. I should have, could have, but didn't do a lot of things in life, but circumstance and lack of schooling has put me where I am. I get by, but certainly not well off by any means. If I complain about it, there is no-one who will listen, no-one who cares, no-one who's going to leave me an inheritance and no-one who can change my past. No sense me whining ..I'm getting too old for that. Your young...keep getting that education, work when you can, find a good woman to help support you, financially and physically, and you'll be just fine. Life's tough, but there are opportunities out there, for those who want to work toward them, regardless of your race, religion or family background. Just keep sluggin, slugger
Chrud
Re: A more accurate electoral map. What is all this bickering about? The guy (SlugShooter) made a post with a vote percentage electoral map, showing how close it was. I can't say I understand why everyone is jumping all over him. I am as Republican as anyone, but I don't see why you guys are calling SS on whining. I didn't read any. A simple map about how the country is divided. I knew it was pretty close, that is a pretty interesting map. Thanks for sharing it SS.
