Guest whitetailarcher
The other night I was out just filming and got a great shot of a double main beam buck bout 50 yards away. On his right side he has a pretty decent four nd on his left side he has two threes that come out of different places of his head. First one I've ever seen I don't know much about them. Will he be like that next year, is it genetics? As soon as I pick up my new USB to video adapter I'll put him up, but just curious in the meantime. Bond
Re: How rare are double main beam bucks? I never saw one in my life but this year 2 of them were killed on or near our property. I'm not sure if that really answers how rare they are.... So my answer is, they're more rare than a typical rack.
Tominator
Re: How rare are double main beam bucks? I've seen one in real life, and one on film. Around here, they're more common than deer with drop tines.

Bushman
Re: How rare are double main beam bucks? My hunting buddy just took a double main beam buck out of our stand. Not the largest deer but that other main beam makes great character. First one I have ever seen.

whitetailtrax
Re: How rare are double main beam bucks? I think they are pretty rare. I shot a double main beam buck in 2003 that has a droptine coming off the second beam. I would not have otherwise pulled the trigger on that young deer, but I wanted a better look and I only had one option .

whitetailtrax
Re: How rare are double main beam bucks? [ QUOTE ] Got a pic whitetailtrax? [/ QUOTE ] I will take a look and see what I've got. I'm looking at the rack as I type - it makes a good conversation piece here at the office. I will post a picture if I can find one or will scan one in the next day or so.

Sry if i misslead someone, i didn't know the terminology for that kinda buck. I should get the USB adapter for my camera here soon then I can put him on here.
