maytom
I was thinking of getting a rifle for next years gun season, but only certain counties can use them. But shotgun and Muzzleloaders can be used in all gun hunting counties here in NY. So I was thinking of going with the T/C Encore for better accuracy than my shotgun can shoot, as well as the range that a Encore can deliver. Just was curious as to what some of your opinions are of the Encore. Thanks.
EKYhunter
Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 I've got one. It's the all Hardwoods camo model. It shoots very well and easy to clean using 777 pellets. I shoot a 250 grain shockwave.
too_pointer
Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 Lots of people in here own one, including me. I love mine, and soon to add a rifle barrel to it. For muzzloading, I use 100 grn. of 777 pellets, 295 grn. powerbelt bullet, and win. 209 primer, very accurate for me Have a Nikon 3-9x40 on top of it. too_

Guest toytruck
Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 I have one in SS .45 and .50 cal. The .45 shoots 225 powerbelts and 2 pyrodex pellets into one hole at 25 yds. and 1-1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yds. Four deer taken with it in first two years I had it. The .50 shoots a 300 gr. sabertooth with 110 gr. T7 FFg. So far this year two shots and two dead bucks. (Want-to-be 6 pt.-one side didn't mature, and 8 pt. small rack, but nice size deer.) Four deer taken with the .50 cal. counting last years two. I am going back to pyrodex pellets next year now that the Remington Kleanbore 209's have stopped the blow back into the breech area. AJ
Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 I shoot the Encore with a 209x50 barrel but it is a handgun. I went from the normal breechplug to Precision Rifle's .25 ACP breechplug. What a difference. I use small rifle primers and there is no blow back what so ever. The outside of the case is still shiny after a half dozen shots. There is a slight crush fit with the cases and it seals them tight. I like it. It also does not leave the crud ring inside the barrel. More better!

Those 209 primers are just way too hot from what I've been reading on several forums now, and is what's causing poor accuracy problems with those Triple 7 pellts. Thanks for all your replys guys, look's like this will indeed be the gun of choice come next year!!
EIGHTPOINT
Re: T/C Encore in the 209 x 50 My Encore shoots better than my centerfire rifles. When I go out with a gun I have taken my 209 x 50 since I bought it 3 years ago.
