LifeNRA
Do you guys remove the tape you put on the trees? Mannnnn, Ill tell ya I hate slob hunters! The mountain looks like somebody is decorating for Christmas!!! Then this stuff stays ups for years until I remove it. This is why I like using the reflecting tacks. Even then I take them off at the end of the season! Sorry ranting!!!
Swamphunter
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! I don't use ribbon, I use the little diamond shaped reflectors. Surveyors leave ribbon behind after they are done. Maybe this was from them??
VermontHunter
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! BAD Day John ??? LifeNRA
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! Noooooooooo! Its always like this the day before, or the day of rifle season on this land. I hunt near a sorta public hunting grounds. Mike(TreeStand) knows, but I wont disclose where. They allowed rifles this year and all the slobs are back with there tape ribbons! The woods are near perfect all year long until the day before the PA rifle season! Mannnnnnn this get me upset, because they never remove this stuff! Plastic takes years to degrade too! Plus it makes an UGLY view. Again sorry for the rant!

tedicast
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! Not al of of tape, but it seems everytime I walk in the woods i nthe morning with my headlamp on, there is another trail or path marked with brighteyes!. It had gotten to the point where you will see 2 different color bright eyes marking the same trail. I'll admit.....bright eyes are the cats you know what, and I use them, but use the sparingly, not every 5 feet along a 1/4 mile trail. Tominator
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! I usually remove it when I see it unless I know for sure who put it there. We don't have too much of that stuff to be honest.
slugshooter
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! I don't use anything to mark my way, except my GPS but after awhile you get to know the area well enough so you know where you are at. As for that, there are pink ribbons and tacks all over the public land I hunt, I figure whats the point because eventually you're gonna forget which ones are yours. I remember last year I turned on my green streamlight and all I saw were green lights all over the place from reflection off the tacks. There is a guy me and my buddies "lovingly" nicknamed Spiderman because this guy would use thin twine to mark his trail and then he would leave it out there. I am not kidding, this guy would be all over the place, he'd even criss cross some areas. Then you try to get around the stuff and you end up getting tangled in it. I haven't noticed it this year but the last couple years it was all over the place.

wtnhunt
Re: Posting Tape Trails!!! Hunt on my own land, use tape to mark blood trails, and will pick it up after we recover the deer. Have used it before to mark a path to a stand, and left it up, because the stand is still there.
