EKYhunter
Just wondering how many, if any, of you fellow hunters fire a fouling shot in your rifles before going hunting. Thanks.

AJ
Re: Fouling Shot? In my centerfires, I shoot a group at the range to verify zero. The scope gets adjusted, if needed, and the gun is placed in teh case until I am done hunting with it. I don't clean between range and hunt time, even if its 2 months long. If I hunt in the rain, I pull a snake through the bore once. Thats it. The gun shoots the same POI all the time.
Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Fouling Shot? Yes & No. I have a fouling shot when I'm at the range. But after the range & the gun is ON. I just put it away & hunt with it. after the season is over I clean it. CB
wtnhunt
Re: Fouling Shot? Guess in a way I do. I shoot some year round and clean my guns as they need it. Usually about a month or so before season opens I will clean it good and shoot a few groups to make sure everything is where it should be and then put it up until season opens. too_pointer
Re: Fouling Shot? I guess I haven't heard about a fouling shot except for muzzleblasters. I don't even do that. I prefer a clean bore every shot, no guess work there. If it makes you a better shot great !! too_pointer
JimT
Re: Fouling Shot? I never clean after I am sighted in for hunting. It makes a difference for sure.
