horst
Was driving to work today and seen two rooster pheasants run into the ditch, I stopped got out, went back and walked the ditch, the birds got up, I shot and killed the first one, jacked another shell into the chamber and tried to shoot the other one, nothing happened.I looked down and the chambers standing wide open, "What the??"I try to close it and the pump feels funny, I look at it and its sliding up and down freely without moving anything else.Takes me a second to realize the pumps actually broke off from the slide arms on the gun, where its riveted to the arms both sides busted, the corners broke right off when I shucked a shell in Ive emailed the company about it hope to hear back from them, Im not real amused about it.Its a Mossberg and I was thinking seriously about buying one of thier 835s next summer, but I think Ill see how they treat me on this first, the gun aint even 5 yrs old yet

AJ
Re: Nice That does suck! I have never heard of that happening. I checked a couple gunsmithing books that speak specifically about common problems with the Mossberg and thats not mentioned.
horst
Re: Nice Chris, you can legally hunt the road ditches here for pheasants. With deer and other game its a little different but pheasants its not only legal, its probably the most common way of hunting them around here. Aj, Ive never heard of it either, really suprised me.I know mossbergs arent top of the line but Ive shot them for a lotta years and never really had any trouble with them as long I took good care of them.Anyway, i emailed Mossberg about it and havent heard anything back yet, maybe tommorrow
