Re: Survey Question

we get 1/4 beef (home grown), 1/2 of a pig (home grown), 10 chickens (home grown), 200 bluegill (thru the ice), 2+ deer (killed myself)

we do most all processing expect for the beef

i told my wife that she will never have to shop for meat at the store

plus it helps we farm

used to supply all the milk too until we sold the dairy herd

good tymes

Re: Survey Question

About 75% venison for my immediate family. Burger, chops, canned meat, roasts, sausage, jerky.

Other family members use 100% venison until its gone. They usually run out before the next season even though they harvest and keep an average of 6-8 deer. They share alot of their meat with other family members that don't hunt.

Re: Survey Question

my family does not depend on the venison that i provide. However at the moment, that is the bulk of what is taking up our freezer. We also have cattle that we have butchered with accounts for a good deal of our meat.......i would say right now our freezzer is 70% venison.

Re: Survey Question

it depends on the time of year. ths time of year (gun season) if i get one it will be about 85% venison and 15% beef. but the rest of the year it varies. wouldnt even buy beef if it were up to me. got 2 out of 4 family members who dont eat venison. pansies !
