Tom2008
Re: How many deer did you see? Yeah Id be lucky one year to see atleast 5 deer. Last year I only saw 3 in the woods. A 4 point I passed up, a doe, and the yearling I had to finish off for my uncle. This year I have only seen a fawn which I passed up and the spike buck I shot for rifle season. Next year Ill be seeing more though Im sure of it. Gonna really hit the scouting hard over the spring and summer.
wtnhunt
Re: How many deer did you see? Different deer in a hunting season. In the 2002-2003 season around probably 50-60 different deer. The 2003-2004 season probably 60-70 different deer. The 2004-2005 season probably 30-40 different deer. This season so far, probably less than 20-25 different deer, and have not seen one the last 8 or 9 times I have been out.
SaskMan
Re: How many deer did you see? I am not even sure how many deer I'd see in a season, hundreds. That is counting muzzleloader season too. I saw a smany as 40 in the same field on a given night in early Oct. However our buck to doe ratio is horrible. I spent a 1/2 hr on the telephone last night with a SERM guy in Laronge. With any luck next year we'll be allowed to shoot more does and there won't be a 2nd either sex tag for the forest. God I hope so.
Adjam5
Re: How many deer did you see? I have seen over 50 deer while on stand this year where I bow hunt in NY's 3R region. This is a suburban area and the deer per sq mile is very high in 3R. I have seen over 20 bucks bow hunting this year, and took a injured 3 leg walking, non typical 6. Where I gun hunt in NY's 3H region, I have seen only 15 or less deer. Out of those 15 or so, only 3 were bucks, and they were young ones. Forkhorns and spikes.
