Swamphunter
For boiling the meat off a skull, what do you guys use for the pot and the heat source?? I thought about using my turkey frying stand and burner, and getting a pot of some sort from the hardware store....what kind of pot will take the heat of the burner directly below it?? sasksheds
Re: Which pot? I use exactly that for the heat source.I have an old wash tub that I fill with water.Remember after you get all the meat etc... off to reboil it in clean water & tub. After boiling it for 4-5 hours & scraping as much as poss off I use the pressure washer to get the rest.It works very well & saves alot of work & time.Do not hit the antlers with the pressure washer. It will wash the color right off of them.Good luck. rockefeller66
Re: Which pot? i just use out oven stove inside the house, never boiled more in there than a few skull plates with the rack on it or a few jaw bones and for the pot i got an old soup pot, looks just like i am cooking soup and boiling a ham bone or something but it works great! Bow Hunter Derek
Re: Which pot? Turkey fryer stand and the turkey pot. I've pretty much ruined the turkey pot. No, I've not fried a turkey since I first used the pot either. I need to go buy a new pot.

Thayer
Re: Which pot? If you can bury the head in an area with good bugs, they can clean it for you...he told me to use a 50 gallon metal drum to keep the rodents from chewing on the antlers.
