Trail Cameras

I am looking into buying a trail camera, but I do not know which brands are good and which aren't. I know I want digital, and my friend has a cuddeback that works great. I just don't get why it costs $400.00 and I can get a regular digital one that's only $100.00. What's good and what's not? What type does everyone use?

Re: Trail Cameras

I made my own for about 250 dollars. 4.1 mp with all extras you can add. I have heard some bad and good about cuddle back I would not get one. I would get a Leaf River if i didnt make my own. The 100 dollar cams are 100 dollar cams. Think about it. Which ever way you go I know you will not stop with just one. grin.gif

Re: Trail Cameras

I tried three different 100 dollar Maultries, they will work, just not very well.

I got the new Cuddle 3.0. Excellent camera. Very fast

Very nice pics. They are suppose to be coming out with it in IR. When they do I will get one of them too.

Re: Trail Cameras

I had a cuddy.....didn't care for it too much took it back and got a Leaf River of which I like very much...and have had now for over a year....trigger speed is way over rated IMHO.....if you set the cams up back off the trail a little and at the right angle with a low mb card (which does affect trigger speed...) and turn the dial up to the 2 o'clock position you'll get full pics....have not miss a full deer yet.......keep in mine fast triggers do drain batteries and image quality can suffer some.....Really like the Leaf and will be getting another one.....
