Here's my whitetail from this year. He's pretty good for a southern buck with super mass on his left side. He was a 5 x 6 but he broke off the end of the main beam on his left side and now he looks like stubby five pointer. The right side has a small point which you can't see in this pic.

The best part of the hunt was getting away and spending some time with two of my boys and my brother. The weather was great, the hunting was excellent, and the hunting pressure was just about nil.

Oh yeah, my little brother got a deer as well. Pretty funky looking tines on this one, it's too bad you can't clearly see all of them. When we were skinning him out we found an old wound going through his lower gut. It just missed his innards, but was the probable reason for him growing the unusual rack.

We both had our bucks by 10 on the first morning of our hunt so we spent a few hours visiting with the rancher whose land we hunt on and then went after some mule deer does in the afternoon. I had four tags but really only wanted another two deer. There were so many mulies that I had my two deer in no time at all. The rest of the afternoon and the next morning we just cruised the trails and watched the mulie bucks making fools of themselves. Boy the rut sure lowers their intelligence.

This is the little Alberta northern bush Buck I shot November 12/05, I only hunt public land so the big grain fed Bucks are safe from me. One shot 225 yards, with my T/C Encore in .260 Rem, 140gr bullet. Plenty of good eating when combined with the Bull Moose I shot September 29/05.
