The_Kat
Bought me a crock pot for my dorm room. Other than heating stews up I dunno how to use one. I am looking for any kind of cool dinners to make in a crock pot. Thanks!

Tominator
Re: Crock Pot Recipe\'s I have a killer recipe for a roast. Get an oven bag, throw in cup of soy, squeeze a lemon (juice) in there, teaspoon of majoram or cumin, some tyme and rosemary, pepper. Tie the bag tight, Marinate a roast in there overnight. Next morning, make sure your knot on the bag will hold and be water tight, then put the oven bag, marinade and all in the crock pot, and very important, fill the crock with water so that the bag sits in the water. Set the crock on low, go to class, come back later, probably should test the meat with a thermometer to see if it's done, but in most cases a 5lb roast will be done in about 6 to 7 hours. Yummy. **This is getting moved**

Griz
Re: Crock Pot Recipe\'s Throw a roast in it and let it cook all day. Add you some mushrooms, bell peper, onion, salt, pepper, garlic and let that cook with the roast. When it is done slap some of that on a flour tort with some graded cheese and chow down... Mmmmm! Now that's a meal...
birddog
Re: Crock Pot Recipe\'s I am the crock pot king!! Started in college, and now at 30...if I am cooking it's usually in the crock pot!!!! You looking for game recipes? Cheap?? WHat...give me something to work with :-) You can't go wrong with this for inexpensive..... Use a can of cream of "anything" soup....(mushroom, celery, onion, chicken.....) They all taste about the same, find the cheap one. PUt it in the crock pot: I'll throw 3 chicken breasts in there.....(the beauty of the crock pot...is they can be frozen, thawed, old...) Put it on low....stir occasionally throughout the day....throw in veggies if you so choose, add anything to it.....then when you are hungry, get a bag of egg noodles (cheap)....make sure the crock pot has moisture in it, throw in 1/2 the bag....the moisture will cook the egg noodles....when they are done, you have a cheap, easy, great tasting meal....eat it with bread.. Man, that is as easy as it comes: I made Venison using a can of beef broth, 1 green pepper, 3 celery sticks, and a can of vegteble beef soup.....served it with bread.....D-licious!!! You will never regret having a crock pot :-)

rbduck
Re: Crock Pot Recipe\'s Try this one...... Slow Cooker Goose A loaf of French garlic bread goes good with this Ingredients 1 14 oz can stewed tomatoes 1 green pepper 1 large pkg broad noodles 2 large white onions 2 medium sized carrots 1 red pepper 2 stalks of celery 4 whole goose breasts( 2 birds), cubed Instructions Peel and slice onions, then simmer covered for 1 hour or until caramelized Peel and cut all vegetables into 2' matchstick sized pieces Cube the breast meat Dump stewed tomatoes into slow cooker, add mixed vegetables, goose cubes, caramelized onions. Cook on low heat for approx. 12 to 14 hours. Prepare broad noodles as directed on pkg. When all is ready, mix together 2 tbsp flour and 1 cup water to form a paste. Slowly add to goose mixture to make a thick gravy(stir well). Or you can add a small can of tomato paste instead. Divide noodles onto 4 plates, cover with goose mixture and serve with garlic bread. I find a nice light ice cold Lager goes well with this dish. Enjoy! This recipe can be prepared the night before and kept in fridge overnight. Just add all ingredients to slowcooker in the morning, turn it on low and it should be ready for you when you come home from work. Smitteken
Re: Crock Pot Recipe\'s I just started cooking with the crockpot, and I think you could cook a boot and it would turn out ok. Yesterday I made some tenderloins in it. At about 9 am I threw about 2lbs of TLs in there sliced up. Sliced a whole onion, added about half of a beer, salt, garlic, pepper, beef boulion, then let it cook all day. At about 4pm I added some water with flour mixed in to make a nice gravy. The meat is falling apart at this point. Then I made some rice on the stove and ate it over that. But you could eat it with bread too. I'm having the leftovers for lunch today.
