007hunter
I've never personally hunted either of those counties but before HR I know they held alot of deer. Go over to www.huntingpa.com and I'm sure someone over there can help you out with with some information about SGL's etc. Good luck!
PAbowhunter4life
Re: PA Deer hunters HELP! Never hunted Greene Co., but I know there are a TON of deer in Washington County. Unfortunately, much like all the land here in Allegheny, it's mostly posted and private land and what little public land is available looks like a pumpkin patch. If you can find a spot or gain access to some private land, you'll be just fine IMO.
thebig1
Re: PA Deer hunters HELP! good luck with finding any help. the way the deer situation is, no ones going to help. and don't expect much from HuntingPa. all they want to do is fight about stuff. you won't get a stitch of help from anyone over there. snapper
Re: PA Deer hunters HELP! [ QUOTE ] let’s get to me ending this post…of all of us hunters out there in PA, how many have written to our state legislators to stop this? How many of us have added to the writings the “Wildlife Management Restoration Act of 2005” written by Mr. Jim Slinsky? How many of us have joined the Unified Sportsman of PA and donated what we could to the lawsuit? How many of us have written our congressmen and senators to express our concern? How many of us have written Governor Rendell to request/demand the immediate removal of Commissioner Palone? For that matter, in my opinion, the removal of Commissioner Schleiden? [/ QUOTE ] I haven't done any of those...mainly because I don't see the big prob. everyone complains about. I still see alot of deer (not just private land) and I'm seeing alot of bigger bucks being killed. The way I see it....the deer herd will be fine if all the Unified sportsmen quit hunting...with the number of "hunters" quiting with disgust...should allow more deer to survive. Biggest problem...too many people out there don't obey the laws. We all know people who kill deer but don't report them. We all prob. know people who kill more deer than they need or supposed to. The prob. with the deer herd isn't the PGC or DNCR...its us the hunters! Now before this thread gets off track...lets end the deer "war" here and start your own thread about the topic. As for the counties mentioned above...I never hunted in either county and can't really help.
