jci63
A friend of mine went on a hunt in Canada, he said that the outfitter baited the deer with hay and frozen pea's. Anybody heard of such a thing? What kind of pea's are they? Where can i get some in bulk? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

SaskMan
Re: Using pea\"d for bait? They're not frozen peas, they are simply field peas. They are a legume, just like soybeans, cowpeas etc... Farmers harvest them when they are ripe and deer love them. Just a legume with a short enough growing season to be grown up here. Tominator
Re: Using pea\"d for bait? If you're going to bait, I'd go with apples or corn. When I toss old apples or corn I pick up after the combine goes through, it's gone in a matter of days.

wtnhunt
Re: Using pea\"d for bait? Dont have a clue where you could find peas like that in bulk. Might try your local feed store. The feed store I use for my cows can and will order about anything you can think of.
