archerjg Posted November 10, 2004 Report Share Posted November 10, 2004 Well My little Chesapeake puppy is now 8 months old and not so little anymore she is somewhere around 80lbs right now. The only problems she is having right now is when she retrieves she will only bring the ball, or training dummy only part of the back and then she drops it and come to you. Here is a couple of pictures of her as of today. She hates cats and they have her full attention. She watches the birds as they fly by and tracks them until they are out of site. Try this to keep her from dropping the dummy early: After you have thrown the dummy and sent her to retrieve it, as she starts back, take off running away from her. Encourage her to come after you and usually she'll forget all about dropping the dummy and will bring it all the way to you. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
