Fullfan
Re: Turkey Calling Watch some videos, rewind, rewind, rewind. Just pay attention to what they are doing. In time you will catch on. Remember you must not be in a hurry. Good luck
Born2Hunt
Re: Turkey Calling Practice will not make perfect but it will make you good. Hoyt03
Re: Turkey Calling Go get yourself a few mouth calls and practice now so by the spring you should be pretty good. Its nice to be hands free when the birds are close
Strut10
Re: Turkey Calling Videos are a good place to start. Your best bet is to hook up with someone who is an experienced caller and will take some time to personally help you along. A lot of guys will be glad to give a "newbie" some calling pointers. Just remember........turkey hunters can be a funny sort when you start asking detailed questions........me included. Never pry for more help or information than someone is gladly willing to give you. It may end a good relationship. Most any turkey hunter will, however, be glad to pass along the basics.
Lumpy
Re: Turkey Calling The best advice I can give is to go turkey hunting with a veteran turkey hunter. You will learn more hands on than you will watching videos. Their are instructional videos out their that will help you learn the bacic calls. Friction calls are much easier to learn than mouth calls, so you might want to start with them and after you get those calls down start messing with mouth calls. Hope this helps God Bless
hutchies
Re: Turkey Calling Videos!! Check the clearance rack right after season is over. A little bit of calling goes a long way. Once they get into sight don't call anyomore than you have too. If they start to linger give it a cluck or a light purr and they will normally spin back around on a dime. Wear a facemask and hold as still as possible. Those big toms didn't get that way by being stupid.
jbeck
Re: Turkey Calling Best suggestion, buy a box call. Learn to use it, hunt with a friend. Your success will improve if you have someone set up 30 to 40 yards behind you. If you don't keep calling to a minimum. Remember that when you call to a turk, he know where your at and what tree your under, this is his house. Contact Mtn Side Game calls for a instructional tape on operating calls. 717-535-5186 The video covers box calls mouth calls friction calls as well as push button calls. Good luck and if you need anymore info just Pm me.
