This is kind of a contradiction of my last post about rifle season, but i figured i'd give it a try. Since the rifle just doesn't do it for me and i have a doe tag left, i figured i'd go for it. But instead of taking the rifle, i'm taking my uncle's .44 mag. revolver. I figure the pistol will be as much fun and challenge as a bow and i've never shot a deer with a pistol or even hunted for one. So, for this coming weekend which is doe season, i'll take out the old pistol and try to fill my last doe tag.

I took a doe several years ago with my 357 mag. It is alot like hunting with a bow except you get to shoot a couple times over, I would take some hearing protection, i think i hurt my hearing my ears rang for two days, and said i will never hunt again with my handgun unless i have hearing protection,

most people dont relize that a hand gun does more damge to your ears than a rifle or shot gun, because of how short the barrel is compared to that of a rifle or shotgun. also when shooting a rifle or shotgun your head is tilted so one ear is pointing away from the noise. but when shooting a handgun your ears are facing outward. so please take note wear some hearing protection. For your futre hunts. i cant imagine trying to hunt without being able to hear. Good luck laugh.gif
