Guest IADEERDUDE
last year bowhunting my buddy shot a doe (paunch) we spent all day looking for her. the interesting thing is she only had one ear. now tonight in my stand what did i see, yip a one eared doe. i always belived that a deer will always die from a paunch shot i cant help but wonder if its her or another deer with one ear, i mean what are the chances of that. so i will ask you all this question, do deer always die from a paunch shot?? dogdoc
Re: confused When I was a kid my friends dog got shot with an arrow through the gut. We pulled the arrow out the rest of the way--stunk like guts and the darn dog lived. It wasn't shot with a broadhead though--just a field tip. Anything is possible---I've seen wounds in dogs and cats that I would have never thought they would live through but did. The chances of 2 does with only one ear in the same area is little. todd

archerjg
Re: confused They do not always die. I know of a couple that have been gut shot that are still alive at my Aunt's. The one guy that she let hunt there a couple of year's ago never checked his equipment and gut shot at least two deer. He don't hunt there anymore, but the deer are still there.
