double_drop
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I would rather see more muzzloading hunts and bow hunts rather than rifle hunts. They don't appeal to me being able to shoot a deer at 3 to 400 yards doesn't seem like much of a hunt to me. Also would like to see some bloopers as well. We all know they happen and maybe you should just make a video of them.
bigbuckdown70
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. less hunts from texas and the milk river seems like that is the only place you guys hunt from anymore we all know there are a lot of big deer there just makes me and other friends think you guys are looking for the easy places to hunt and throw some misses in there once and a while gets a little reputicious seeing a 30 second interview then bang the horns together 10 sec of the deer then a 3 min. on how great the ranch is and how we should book a hunt there i relize that you have to advertise for your sponsers but give us a little more deer hunting please. Thanks Kevin
Mirage
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. i perfer to see hunts of archery whitetail, and please show some tracking of the animal. For example I want to know how far the deer went after the shot. I use these videos for educational reasons as well as entertainment, Also why does it always, i mean always have to be a monster buck? I know the video is called monster bucks, but sometimes i like to feel like yeah thats more like it, i could see myself blah blah blah. do you know what i mean? thanks i used to get all the monster buck videos but a couple of years ago i started watching primetime because they show more of the shot and tracking if that helps you any
arrow32
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. i seem to agree with most the guys on here the more bowhunts the better...maybe not as much of the hunter right before the shot

Guest LDB
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I would like to see more still-hunting or stalking. I realize it is extremely difficult to stalk a deer with a cameraman in tow, but as a viewer I find watching a stalk to be much more exciting than the routine stand hunts. I forget the guy's name, but he did a pretty good stalk on MB XI or XII after sitting by an old tractor in a field as a groundblind wasn't getting him close enough to the deer. The archery competition does nothing for me. I would rather watch more hunting than filler.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I'd have one segment on the video called "Hunting with a Viewer" A Realtree Staff Pro picks a lucky person from a lottery and hunts that person's land, show them calling the person, driving to that person's state and getting a tag over the counter. The Realtree Pro is part of the viewer's deer camp and they scout the lucky viewer's land and hang their stands and see what happens. Most people don't hunt in areas capable of producting 130" or larger deer so hunt like the majority of hunters do and hunt in our favorite hot spots. Would be nice to see this type of segment thrown into the mix of their videos. Can you imagine, Bill Jordan, David Blanton, Michael Waddell, or even T-bone in your deer camp? That would be cool!! Except this time it's Mike Waddell or Bill Jordan and a treestand. MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ultradog
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I love your videos. I look forward to them coming out almost as much as I do the opener. But last year's shooting competition got a little too long for me. I would have rather watched another hunt or two. I like both the gun hunts and the bow hunts and think that the mix you have been using is about perfect.
TreeWalker
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I personally like the archery tourney also, but feel it could be left out of the MB videos....after all it doesn't really have anything to do with the hunting of monster bucks, but maybe add it as a seperate and/or bonus video in the package......or just a plain seperate video all together..... BowJoe
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. Man what a selection of ideas from the absolute average Joe hunters. Those RealTree boys didn't know what they were asking for when they solicited our oppinions. I have some of my own and here we go. I like the idea of a heart monitor/mic but for Michael W., Bill J. and David B. only. Let's see if they still get as excited after 14 yrs on video. I love the bowhunting aspect but hate the excuses when it's a bad hit. We know what's a good hit and what isn't and we have video proof to boot so please don't cut-away to show the shooter shooting. That's reality. I like the idea of tracking a deer and not knowing if you're going to find it or not. That's real emotion and not something you can fake. Ralph C. is excellent at showing true emotion and so is Michael W. A neat camera shot for RTMB XV would be those cameras that mount to the weapon. I would love to see it as the hunter sees it. Maybe mount it to the cap or use the camera man's cap to film both the hunter and the deer at the same time. If you could cut out the suspense music it would be great. I like to hear the deer walking up and the rustle of the leaves. That's exciting to me. I would also like to extend an ivitation to have you RT boys come hunt some of these public land deer that we can't seem to ever get into the same area as us no matter what we try. I hunt Wayne Fitsgerald State Park in the heart of Southern IL and we have some of the biggest deer I have personally ever seen RTMB Videos or not. But when the season opens the deer go on high alert and seeing them in a hunting situation is not too common without a lot of time on stand. That's reality to me and most all hunters that can't afford to hunt outfitters and don't own private land. Sometimes it seems like the videos send the message that you don't get big bucks unless you have big bucks to get them. Hunting is not a richman's sport and started in America as a way of surviving, not showing how well off you are by what paid hunt you are going on next week. You guys have a good feeling to your videos and do extraordinary things for people less fortunate than most. I think the best video you could ever make is one that has no Sponsor guys hunting with rifles on a ranch with umpteen big bucks and holding out until the last day because the 160" buck just wasn't what you were looking for. If you had a hunt of strictly average Joe's like the one's I know and everyone here know's and helped them hunt in their own home state with whatever means they normally do and shared camp with these same people, you'd have yourself a video like you wouldn't believe. You'd also save a fortune in expenses. Just once every couple years of average joe video would be something that everyone I know would love. Also, instead of a huge group of people in the archery tournament, have teams of MW, BJ, DB, T-Bone and Jeff Foxworthy and pair each celebrity with a lucky fan of Realtree. Either pick them from the forum or from the website and for gosh sake's teach Jeff how to shoot a bow so he can participate. Surely Travis can teach him to shoot archery. Please stop hunting places with the last name Ranch in it. These are not real hunting situations at all. Yes you still have to kill the deer, but you shouldn't be able to pick and choose what monster you want and what method of weapon you take to the field with you that day or how many weapons you take. It's not fun anymore to see the same places all of the time and if a monster is not in bow range then just grab your gun and pop him. That's not reality for 90% of us. One last thing. Can you please show us actual camera distance from the hunter to the deer? Even in bow range sometimes you don't know if the deer is 10yds or 50 yds. I don't mean just put the yardage on the screen, I mean show us the non zoomed distance from the stand to that deer. It may not sound like much, but it keeps everything in perspective when you can see how close or far away that deer is. Bowhunting is what I like to see the most in case you were wondering and I think if you took a poll in here you'd see that over 80% would agree. Thank you and I can't wait to see what ideas you use in the future.
huntinsonovagun
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. Just thought of a good idea!! Put some footage of hunts that didn't make the video as bonus footage or something. My buddy (who is a hunting guide) was fortunate enough to be invited by Church on the Move to go to a function, where Blanton, Waddell, and Jordan attended. He said Blanton spoke about some of his first hunts, and told about a Cape Buffalo hunt where the guides were yelling to shoot, and then took off running, leaving Blanton by himself. Why not show some of this stuff?? He also told me they showed SEVERAL clips of AWESOME hunts that never made the cut....why not put some of those on the video? Just have a Blast from the Past section, or maybe show one retro-hunt between every third hunt or so. I guarantee your viewers would LOVE it!! ruttinbuc
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. Educate, Educate, Educate! All aspects of the hunt from A to Z. The show up on the road, at the camp, in the stand, shoot the deer, show off deer is getting very, very, very old! No one is learning anything from the past approach. Show tips and tactics. Show the how, but mostly the WHY....... A reality approach...... Hunting as what it is......Please!
Tony
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. the Realtree videos are number one in my book. because you guys try to cover it all in just a 2 video set. you cant make everyone happy even if you had a 10 volume set for Monster Bucks XIV . maybe you could included on the videos a place for someone from Realtree to show pictures of all these Realtree state gatherings we are having here on the forums. because our gatherings are all about family , friends and the outdoors. then you could just put the pics on the video with Michael or David or Bill just promoting the forums and showing the pictures.. keep up the good work.. unioncountyslayer
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. I like a good mix of Gun and Bow hunts, but would like to see some other locations. I am from NC and would love to see the guys come to NC or SC for a hunt. I know that what some states consider "Monsters" we just can't produce in the Carolinas, but I would still love to see it. As long as Willie and T-Bone are involved in the archery tournament I say keep it, otherwise, before they joined the mix it was getting a bit repetitive. Guest INHunterman
Re: Question From Realtree Video Dept. SHOTGUNS SHOTGUNS SHOTGUNS There needs to be more shotgun hunts. A lot of states limit firearm use to shotguns and muzzleloaders so a few shotgun kills would be great. Also, get rid of the music, I want to here what the hunter hears. Less bowhunting would be great I prefer weapons that go BANG!!!
