Tominator
i missed a doe saturday morning at 22 steps. i shot right over her back. sunday i pulled out the 3D, stepped off 22 paces, and climbed up on the roof and shot. all 6 arrows hit high. hmmmmmmm that pin has always been dead on. sight is not loose, did not change, peep is securely in place. that's unnerving, especially this time of year. couldn't get out last night because i had conferences for my kids. before i went, i crawled up on the roof again, set the target close, and when i drew back, i can't even get my eye in the peep! it's about 1/4" too low. what the heck? i checked every thing out again. sight is tight, peep is tight. i don't understand it. the only thing i can think is that the Zebra twist has stretched, or the whole peep, serving and all have slipped down. i held my 10 yard pin out on a leaf that was at least 30 yards away and i centered it, as did the next 3 arrows, in fact, i cut the fletch off one of them. this is exactly what i DON'T need right now. any thoughts? thebig1
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! i'm thinking your string or cable has moved or something. how old is your string? it could have stretched. i know when my string went, it went a little at a time and then finished all at once. Tominator
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! [ QUOTE ] It is a Mathews, right? ----scratch that, Hoyts aren't any better---- [/ QUOTE ] yeah. hey, i notice your story isn't up yet, what's the matter? hmmmmmmmm? ----> <------ the string is the original one big1, which makes it 2.5 years old. it's in good shape, no fraying at all on it. i really don't shoot as much as someone like Pinwheel. i'm confussed for sure. dogdoc
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! if it has stretched that is a lot of stretch all at one time. somethings not right---i think it would have to be more than line stretch. you need to get to a pro-shop quickly. My guess would have to be your peep moving. todd

Guest Bama
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! If you dont see any damage to the string or bow, resight it and replace the string at the end of the season.
Bow Hunter Derek
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! I'd say that either your peep has slipped, or your serving is loose and siding around. I had to have my string reserved mid summer. I had no clue it was that bad. I noticed over the course of a week that my shots were climbing and climbing. I kept adjusting my sight to accomodate it, until I ran out of sight adjustment. I had my local pro shop owner look at it and he knew right away what my problem was. My serving was slipping on the string. He reserved it, we paper tuned it, and I was back in business. I'd say get it looked at ASAP. Original string servings stink. I read an article once about strings and the author said the first thing he does after he gets a new string brokent in, is to strip the serving off and reserve it extremely tight. Guest gt2003
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! Take it to a pro shop and have them check your strings and cables. My cables went kinda like that. I didn't make any adjustments to anything but the sight was just way off. All of the sudden it just went. It was a strange feeling. It didn't blow up or anything. The draw length was real short on one shot so I let down and when I tried to pull it back again it felt like the string just stretched and it was over. New cables and I was set. Hope you get it fixed soon. Greg
Turkeygirl
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! Well I have found that my peep slips down once in a while and causes my arrows to shoot a little off. Also I had the rubber be too long or stretched which didn't straighten the peep out. VTbowman
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! Your nock point could of slipped too making your peep look low.. if using a brass nock point and no loop. Do you put your release under the arrow, under your brass nock, or do you shoot a loop? Just another thing to think of huh... Hope you figure it out soon!
Tominator
Re: *EMERGENCY* help me out! well, i shoot a loop and my peep is a shurzapeep. as far as i can tell, nothing has slipped, the servings are all still tight. i went out last night and the first thing i did was nock a field point, picked out a leaf that was about 15 to 20 yards away and shot. i used my 10 yard pin and i hit the leaf. at least i had no trouble finding the peep. i think the steep angle on the roof of my house may have been the culprit for not being able to get the peep lined up right. but, the sight is still hitting high.
