VTbowman
I see this stuff more and more for rifle cleaning, to include copper removal/cleaning. I was wondering if it worked well in cleaning out a ML barrel as well as it does a rifle? Since a ML gets 100x more fouled then a rifle shot for shot, I did not know if it would work as well. Thanks. too_pointer
Re: Foaming bore cleaner in a ML? I'm going to pick some up soon. I don't know when I'll be trying it out, but believe it will do the job well. I find it hard to find in the stores, but you can order it I suppose. Since I clean often with windex at the range and am using 777 pellets, my barrel doesn't really get to fouled out. too_
AJ
Re: Foaming bore cleaner in a ML? It works extremely well! My buddy had some of the Hoppes Foaming Bore Cleaner when we went to the range a while back and we thought what the heck try it. It cleaned the T7 crud ring like you can't imagine. It was outstanding on pyrodex fouling also. I got some of the CVA ML foaming bore cleaner ane it worked equally well. The CVA stuffis easier since it has the cone shaped nozzle and the straw nozzle attachment to get down in the bore better. Go easy on the stuff as it expands and you have a frothed up blob squirting out both ends of the barrel all over everything if you use too much. Definately do it over a sink or outdoors! Now after a day of shooting or a successful hunt, I pull the load (if applicable) and breechplug and squirt the stuff in the bore. I degrease the breechplug and give it a shot of the stuff too. I refill my speed loader and by then, its time to dry patch the bore. After 2 patches, its sparkly clean. I wipedown the breechplug and give it a once over with an old toothbrush. Grease up the breechplug with The Stick and reassemble. I swab the bore with a bore swab coated with Slip 2000 and its good to go.
