Canuck2
Re: 2006 Competition scores *L* Thanks for the post modification, Tony. Shot a Vegas round last night, even though the scores from the real Vegas shoot last week have me feeling really humble. And I have a tale of woe for this one. I was shooting 3 down through 9 ends. Then on the last end I went down another 3, including a cotton pickin' 8! Final score: 294-10x.

Pinwheel5
Re: 2006 Competition scores Kind of busy around here so don't get to post as much as I used too but here are my results from last week. 300-51X I was consistant low left and afraid to move my sights until half. finished with a 150 27X last half. Should have moved them earlier. Shot 3-d Sunday with single digit temps at the first few targets. Hard to keep focus and dropped 9 points the first 9 targets. The weather warmed up and I shot the last 15 targets on the harder side without dropping any more points but could only manage 2 more 12's for a 245, five down. ultratec1
Re: 2006 Competition scores I ended up with a 300 54x yesterday. I had a serious brain fart the 2nd end during the bottom half and shot a 1X end. Wow how in the pucker brush did that happen? Oh well
Canuck2
Re: 2006 Competition scores This week's Vegas : 290-10x. Started out decent with only 3 down in the first half and faltered again toward the end. Shoulders acting up and I'm having real problems holding on target when fatique sets in. Guess I better go get a cortisone shot.
NYBUCK
Re: 2006 Competition scores Last night I shot week 7 I think. I was shooting awesome. I was at the second to last end and had only lost 6 points. I don't know what happened, lack of concentration, stupidity, I really don't know, but I shot high on every arrow in fact one missed the spot totally. I only took 20 points on that end. Last end I really concentrated and shot a 25 with 4 x's. I still dont know what happened but I put on the new string and cables and with that came a new peep. I think I just need to make sure I focus. I ended up with a 289 and 27 x's.

Tony
Re: 2006 Competition scores yea i know Knobs. but you know its all about comfort and that Zenith while i did shoot some great scores with it , there was always the fear of it going off on me. i just got a used scott longhorn and i cant wait to try it out tonight at league. i did get my Ultratec set up for 3d so im kind of in the game. i have marks set and i shot a little yesterday. the shots felt good and the arrows were drilling... im going to check my marks at Happy Apple tonight before target league. plus i have line times for friday night at 7pm and saturday at noon for the Deer Classic Vegas 300.. sunday im shooting at Happy Apple as a state warm up. see ya.. Tony
Re: 2006 Competition scores i didnt shoot league tonight due to some buisness i had to attend to. but i got to shoot some after work. im practicing Vegas rounds in preparation for this weekends shoots. all rounds were shot with my Hoyt Protec and the Solution 2. first Vegas game was 297 with 17 Xs. second game was 299 with 21Xs. so out of 60 shots i had 56 10s. not bad for a rookie. best deal is i dialed in my 3d bow ( Ultratec ) tonight as well. i ran marks off of my Archers Advantage program and my marks are dead on . i have no reason to doubt them. i shot 30 10 rings on animals from 13 to 40 yards. heres my schedule for the next 3 weeks. March 3rd Deer classic Vegas shoot 7 Pm March 4th deer classic vegas shoot Noon March 5th Happy Apple 5 spot shoot. March 11th State Indoor shoot 8 Am March 12th Afton 3D March 17 , 18 and 19 NFAA Indoor Nationals Louisville Kentucky yep im gonna be one busy guy .. after nationals then its all 3D and field archery all summer. Canuck2
Re: 2006 Competition scores Some nice shooting going on here guys - way to go. Tony, that is a sweet schedule. My first 'real' competition of the year won't be until mid March, when I finally manage to get to a 3D event. I'm not at all ready for it; my Razortec has been ignored since hunting season and needs to be dialed in with my 3D arrows. I also haven't a clue what any distance other than 18 m looks like any more, so I need to go for a few walks in the woods. However, I just got some new arrows for indoors and put them to the test this week. I like 'em - 295-14x for a Vegas round and 300-50x on a 5 spot. First 50! The competition I'm most looking forward to is the provincial indoor championships at Easter.

NYBUCK
Re: 2006 Competition scores Shot my worst week ever, 284 with 24 x's. No explanation, just lack of concentration I think. 2 weeks left to go.
NYBUCK
Re: 2006 Competition scores By the way, one of the guys I shot with had a perfect 300 round with 60 x's. That was really cool, he is a real nice guy and a great shooter.
Canuck2
Re: 2006 Competition scores Thanks Tony; it felt great. Maybe I can start to inch upward from the plateau I seem to have been stuck on for the last while. nybuck, gotta have the off days mixed in with the good ones. But that 300-60x gentleman seems to be a real good one to rub elbows with, or even get some direct pointers from.
MCH
Re: 2006 Competition scores Plan on shooting my first 3-D of the year. I actually haven't picked up a bow since last November 13th.. Well, at least I should enjoy myself.
Tony
Re: 2006 Competition scores i shot the Iowa Deer Classic Vegas 300 last night. i shot pretty good . 297-14xs. i had a suck hole on 2 targets and i was getting 10s , but missing the baby Xs. it was fun to see a lot of old friends and get to shoot under a big type of tourny like this. i had a few times i was the only one out there shooting , because i was taking my time. i loved it being in the so called "spot light " and then drilling an pin wheel 10. definately boosted my confidence. im getting ready to head back to shoot today at noon and take in the show there . Tony
Re: 2006 Competition scores i missed the next day at the deer classic. i had a little bout with the flu again saturday. i did get out today and shoot my 5 spot shoot at Happy Apple . i shot pretty good 300-52 X . i just couldnt get started , i felt all shakey and funny. probably the flu crap again. i did finish strong with 24 out of 25 Xs. i heard someone say i was in 3rd place at the Deer classic. but i bet with all the shooters today i get bumped down a bunch. there were a lot of good shooters shooting today. MCH
Re: 2006 Competition scores Finished 3 down at the local MCAA shoot. My 277 was good enough to place 3rd though. Didn't shoot as many X's as I would have liked but I only shot 4 8's out of 28 targets. Not bad considering the layout of the course. Had one target where we were standing on a hill and the target was almost straight underneath us, quartering. Actually, X'd it.. Anyway, my back feels better than it has in a while, so I'll probably get back to shooting weekly now.

I had been struggling but I went in last night to work out the bugs and shot a 300-51X, 5 spot and a 297- 21X vegas. I dropped my 3 points the last 4 ends.
