Tony
Re: 2006 Competition scores pretty good shooting there Kevin. sounds like your bowhunting bow is ready and the deer are not going to be happy at all.. i shot a local course today for practice. i counted center 11s just for kicks.. i shot 393 or 7 down with 13 11s... with all the small targets like cats and groundhogs and turkeys its pretty easy to shoot just a tad off and get a 8.. but it was a good day shooting for me and seems to be a road to recovery from my not so good shooting this summer. im working on some new stuff and it seems to help a lot. im going to shoot Raccoon Ridge tomorrow for the best shot team shoot with Tim. should be fun. NYBUCK
Re: 2006 Indoor Competition and 3D scores Shot a 262 out of 300 Sunday. and that was after a miss on a stupid 45 yard alligator. I kinda blew some some shots but happy for the most part.
Tony
Re: 2006 Indoor Competition and 3D scores 45 yard alligator? man thats a rough shot there.. i didnt shoot raccoon ridge on sunday. i went with Ultratec1 to Montezuma iowa to shoot a really tough course. i shot my best score ever there a 369. yea still 31 down. but i only shot 6 down ( 194 ) on the second half. a couple of stupid targets at the start cost me 3 5s. Ultreatec blew my doors off and shot a 402, or 2 up. i get tired of him beating my butt so often. i sure hope he realizies hes helping me get better. but im sure not helping him too much.. the Heartland Triple Crown 3rd leg is this weekend in St Joseph Missouri. tough course and should be a lot of fun... i will be shooting with Ultratec1 and oldlogcabin... i have to take my camera to get some pics.. shooting with these 2 is more fun than i can stand... Tony
Re: 2006 Indoor Competition and 3D scores i shot the last leg of the Triple Crown in St Joseph missouri yesterday. my day didnt go very well , but Ultratec1 and Logcabin shot good. it looks like logcabin wrapped up his class with a 397 and probably won the st joseph shoot also. final results wont be in until monday or so, but he had a good lead on the second place guy and beat him by a few points yesterday. Ultratec1 shot ok i think with a 387 but hes wasnt happy. hes never happy . except when he ragging on Mike or me or trying to smoke with us in the truck. i still think you shot good BJ.. i on the other hand had a few yardage estimation problems and i shot a 342 with only 7 11s. while i didnt miss any targets and i did nail a few, i missed some yardages by 6 to 10 yards. i guess i will have to just work it out somehow. im headed to mikes house this morning to get my bow worked on. it seems the cams are out of time and hopefully they will try to beat into me some yardage estimation. congrats to Mike on some good shooting on a tough course. ultratec1
Re: 2006 Indoor Competition and 3D scores I can't say that I'm not happy with the way i shot but the things that cost me were my fault. I could have shot in the 90's but due to a couple stupid brain farts on my part cost me 2 8's on the last 2 targets. I can't complain it was better then last year. Still happy but I know I could have finished higher. Oh well. On a positive note I have lighters stashed through out my truck now along with some cans of Ensure for Mike and Beano for you. Tony
Re: 2006 Indoor Competition and 3D scores i shot a 3d shoot today at Panora Iowa with Ultratec1 and logcabin. we had a good time and im starting to get back to where i used to be. Mike shot 548, BJ shot 546 and i shot 538. while they dont score center 11s we kept track. a couple of screwy shots, but i felt confidant about my ranges and the bow shot great. i had 25 11s out of 56 targets. the course was in great shape and River Bottom Archery puts on a good shoot. i won a DVD as a door prize from the last time. we also had a pop shot, but i didnt get a pop. well i got a pop in the head on the way home. i fell a sleep for a second and Ultratec1 whacked me on the hat brim. kinda scared me. but thats ok at least i didnt lose an arrow today. pop shot was a tough one at a deer a long ways off. me and mike got 10s and BJ fed the river with a nice looking Acc arrow. i shot the target for 44 yards.. sure felt good on a lot of shots today. im slowly working my way back. i have been shooting for 9 days straight. i might go check out a local place thats opened up about 15 miles from here in St Charles tomorrow. NYBUCK
Re: 2006 Competition scores Last Sunday shot a 269 out of 300 on a 30 target course. So far this year out of 6 tournaments I am averaging 8.98 per shoot. Scoring being 10, 8, 5, 0. No 12's around here.
MCH
Re: 2006 Competition scores Just got back from the Archer's for Christ tournament in Paris. Shot a 324 13-X scoring 12's on a 30 target course. After the first 5 targets, we thought we were in trouble. Two dowhill 30+ yard shots, one uphill, very misleading 28 yards, a 30 yard front facing jake and a 30 yard javelina. Managed to get by with one 8, one 10 and three 12's on those. Paris had a record turn-out today. Just a regular monthly shoot and they brought in 88 shooters. There were 54 in Hunter class. I placed 2nd overall. Wasn't too sure how I would shoot since I hadn't shot 3-d in 3 weeks and I hadn't even picked up my bow since putting my new CJ mounting bar on at the James Collins scouting trip. But I got up this morning, early, and sighted her in. Made one slight change on the practice range at Paris and then shot great the rest of the day. struttinhoyt
Re: 2006 Competition scores That was a nice shoot at paris today...... I ended up shootin a crappy 275... shooting someone elses arrow.... while at the practice range with MCH they had a new target setup so me and kevin shot.... and went and pulled arrows and pulled all 3 inserts out of my only 3 arrows.... no1 had any glue.... So I had to use a buddy of mines arrow.... I should of shot alot better but it was my first competion shooting a back tension plus it was a totally diff arrow..... took some gettin used too.... The way they gave out the awards I still ended up with a 1st and my buddy shot for 2nd......
MCH
Re: 2006 Competition scores 275 wasn't a bad score considering ya'll scored offset X's, either. I'd take those arrows back to Gander Mountain and tell them what happened, maybe they'll make up for it. I'm headed there today to pick up a couple of donated items for our shoot next week. BTW-- Oklahoma made a good showing yesterday. I won second overall in Hunter A class. Cindy won 2nd in Women's class. Shane (boy who came with me) won 1st in Youth class. Scott won second in Hunter B class. Joe(struttinhoyt) won 1st in Hunter C class. Chris won 2nd in Hunter C class. And Steve(guy who came with me) won 3rd in Hunter C class. 10 Okies went to the shoot from our club and 7 won awards.
struttinhoyt
Re: 2006 Competition scores yea.. My score would have been alot higher if we would have known to count the center X's instead of offset cause I had prolly 15 or so in the 10 ring and quite a few were in the center X..... But oh well we still had alot of fun......
struttinhoyt
Re: 2006 Competition scores Just got back from another MCAA shoot in Broken Bow....... I shot a 241 on a 25 target shoot....... only ended up with one five.....that was just my mistake..... it was on a 22 yard turkey i was settin there holdin my 20 at the top of the X and I was lookin to shoot an X and I squeezed it off and moved my bow hand tryin to see where it landed.... bam about a 1/4 inch right of the 8 ring...... I was a little mad at myself for it and got back and ended up having a better score than I thought...... I ended up having a tie for 3rd place so we had a shoot off.... shot at an alligator at about 28 yds throught a tree it seemed like..... we both shot the same score on it so we had to shoot again.... went to another target which was an african type animal at 23 yds...... I had X'd it going through the coarse and we shot...... Stuck it with 10 and the other guy had an 8.... So I recieved a nice little cute 3rd place trophy..... overall I shot pretty well...... MCH
Re: 2006 Competition scores Nah, Joe. I'll probably go house hunting with the wife. Wanted to, but my wife goes to work at 3:30 and I can't find a babysitter. Can't ask my mom or mother-in-law because they had them for 5 days straight this past weekend. Kind of like asking a guy to get his teeth cleaned right after getting his wisdom teeth pulled.
