EIGHTPOINT
AJ, A family member is thinking of trading his Remington Gamemaster 760 Pump in a 30-06 SPRG caliber with a Kassnar 4 x 32 scope on it. The gun is in fair condition . It could use a reblueing and it would look brand new. The stock is in great shape . What would be a fair trade price if I would take it to a gun shop or a gun show and trade it for another rifle? I think he is interested in getting a .308. We have a number of 30-06's . AJ
Re: Question for AJ. I don't have the latest book as of yet, but this should be fairly close. 100% - $375 98% - $325 95% - $275 90% - $250 80% - $225 They do have regional pricing, meaning they are worth more in some areas than others. PA is a popular place for the 760, so they will bring a higher price than in Wyoming. Check out Gun Broker Auction Site and do a search on 760. You will find quite a few of them. They should give you an idea of what they will go for.
EIGHTPOINT
Re: Question for AJ. Thanks AJ for the reply. While I was in my gun safe I came across a gun given to me but I forgot I had. It is a Weatherby 224 Magnum Mark V Varmitmaster with a Weatherby 2 3/4 X 10 scope. Something tells me that this is a gun that I should hold on to even if I never use it . What do you think of this gun ?
AJ
Re: Question for AJ. It's a decent gun that will not go down in value, and since it does not eat, it does not cost anything to hold on to it. I would recommend keeping it for sometime in the future. The 224 Wby Mag was pretty much a flop. Weatherby has been fameous for making ultra velocity versions of popular calibers except for the .22 caliber. The 224 Wby is just behind the .22-250 Rem in performance and is a ballistic twin to the 225 Win. It is the smallest belted magnum cartridge, and was chambered in a small version of the Mark V Weatherby action. It's biggest drawback was the price, ammo price, and performance compared to a faster .22-250 and .220 Swift.
