BowJoe
I have been looking at fall away rests for the Outback and wonder if all of the rip cord style rests are compatible with the Mathew's Outback roller guard. My pro shop has a ripcord style rest (MPSI) that they use on the OB and SB and if that rest works with just a cord then why wouldn't others as well? I have seen a few cheap rests on ebay and if that works in the same way then I'll go the cheaper route. The only change I have seen made is the cord is fasted to the cable instead of the slider. Thanks for your advice.
tedicast
Re: Compatable rests for Mathew\'s Outback? I am using a Vital Bow Gear, Ultimate FallAway rest on my Outback. When I bought the rest it was mathews specific, with a piece that went to the roller gaurd bracket for the drop away cord to go through. I can't remember if VBG stopped making it, or if it was just the reccomendation of the tech at our pro shop, but we set it up without the roller gaurd bracket, and it works flawlessly. Chrud
Re: Compatable rests for Mathew\'s Outback? I recommend the Mathews Micro Rest. The rest wraps around the back of the riser shelf. So, when bolting the rest on, there is no adjusting the rest up or down to have it level. The rest pretty much locks on to the bow. I like it a lot. Plus, it can be either a fall-away (my choice) or a shoot-through. The only two fall-away style rests I've used have been a Trophy Taker and Mathews Micro Rest. The Mathews is much better. I never could get the TT to be quiet.
WHISKEYSWAMP
Re: Compatable rests for Mathew\'s Outback? I use the QAD Ultra Rest and really like how it holds the arrow... You don't have to worry about the arrow falling off the rest. I have a Trophy Ridge Dropzone (guide series) I could sell you fairly cheap if you are interested. It will work on the Outback. I do not have the arrow rack that comes with it but they can be purchased online at Cabela's. Let me know if you are interested.
