Guest okie Posted December 14, 2005 Report Share Posted December 14, 2005 I would try and get with a local taxidermist and ask if you can sit around and watch him mount some animals. You might have to do some work for him (skinning deer, cleaning up, etc.) but I think hands on is the best way. What my brother and I did was buy some videos from van dykes, we started off with a shoulder mount doe, we bought a "how to shoulder mount a deer" and a skinning/tanning video too.
