StillLearnin
This year I'd like to take my dad out duck hunting with me but his 12 ga. is out of comission so he'll have to shoot my 20 ga. I was thinking about buying some Hevi shot so he can have every advantage I can give him, because he doesn't get to shoot very often and he will be shooting a 20. I was wondering if he should shoot a smaller shot size to gain a higher pellet count? I plan on getting ducks in close less than 30 yards. Any and every input is appreciated. Thanks. double_drop
Re: 20 ga. and Hevi shot... i would just use regular 3 inch loads. always have had good luck shooting my 20ga. with reg. 3inch loads. kill birds at 30 yards no problem
WABS
Re: 20 ga. and Hevi shot... 3 inch #4 Hevi Shot work great. A 3 inch 20 gauge is just like shooting a 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge.
gitcha_some
Re: 20 ga. and Hevi shot... 20's are under-estimated in my opinion, i had to shoot one when i was little and that would drop ducks at 60 yards if you held the lead on them tight
