Another passion I have besides hunting is old cars, mostly muscle cars. Check out this link and this guy's collection. He passed away and his collection was sold. He locked up these cars and parts in containers and welded them shut due to past thiefs.

If you know anything about Muscle cars you know of Yenko Camaro's and LS6 Chevelles, plus he had some Corvettes (63 Split window) stashed away as well. Its like finding a time capsule. This guy was a genuine gearhead and knew what to keep.

Awesome collection of pure Muscle and awesome story. How many more finds like this are out there!!

That collection is awesome, it is to bad he did not enjoy some of those cars a little more. I have a few cars myself. I have a 1972 chevy truck with 41000 original miles, a 1978 chevy elcamino and a 1964 volkswagon dune buggy like the one in the picture this guy had. I share your passion for hunting and old cars. Great story thanks for sharing

Re: Muscle Car fans

Wow. Those are sweet. When I was younger I always said I'd have a Corvette before I died. My father was a GM employee for 37 years. He'd always bring home the new model catalogs, and we used to drool over them. Nowdays, I dream of restoring my old 1963 Oliver 770--things change I guess.

Dad always had station wagons because he had so many kids, but his first car was a 39 Mercury, but his sitster "stole" it while he went to France in the service. My cousin had a few muscle cars, my two favorites: his 68 Mustang, and his 65 GTO. I loved that GTO. I served with a guy in the service that had a 65 Vette convertible. His girlfriend lived west of my hometown so he used to take me home on weekends if I helped with gas. Tooling down the highway in the Vette was a blast. We turned some heads for sure.

Re: Muscle Car fans

My buddy owns a 63 split window vette in awesome condition, all original along with his 69 Z-28 Camaro that is stock from the outside but has a TPI engine in it that is all chromed and aluminum'd out. Both rides are sweet and very clean. His girlfriend has a 70 Chevelle SS with a 454 under the hood and that too is sweet.

Other buddy has a 70 SS Convertible Chevelle with a 396 under the hood and that car is simply awesome too. Seldom drives it as its more of his investment.

Myself, I have a passion for old pick-ups. 30's 40's and up till the 55 model year. I do like Muscle cars though, style and power. To go back in time and just buy some of those cars.........let's see, I'll take (2) of those Hemi Cudas, a couple Superbirds, a few COPO Camaros and Chevelles, what the heck, throw in a Yenko Camaro, Chevelle, and a Nova. Why we're at it a 63 Fuel Injected Vette, and a 55 and 57 Chevrolet just to drive to church, if your going to dream, dream big!! smile.gif Those cars today are some people's retirement funds because of the value they are worth!! Ahhhh American Muscle at its finest!!

Re: Muscle Car fans

My first car was a 1962 convertible corvette. Red with a black rag top and red hard top. 327 engine.

Talk about a beautiful car....I think Chevy needs to retro that model with the dual headlights.

I can still smell the exhaust and hear the rumble when I would put it up into 3rd gear and cruise around the movie theater.

The guy couldn't be too smart, he ruined those two 57 vettes....arguably the most valuable of that entire collection by setting them up to race them.

Re: Muscle Car fans

I have a 66 Chevelle lined up for when I get out on my own. One of the guys I hunt with has one sitting in his machine shed that has been sitting there stored for a number of years. Someday I'll get my hands on it and re-do the whole car. It only has the 250 in it now, but I sure would love to get a 400 small block or a 454 for it. wink.gifgrin.gifcool.gif
