IowaDeerHunter
As far as i can remember Dale Jr. was docked a total of 50 points this season. 25 for perposly(sp) spinning out at Bristol, which I think was a bad move. But if you think about it if he didnt do that then he couldve fallen back in the field and maybe lost 40 or 50 points. Then the other time was obviously at Talladega, when he cussed. So right now he would've been ahead of everyone by 3 points. I think right now I like where he is sitting, because out front I think you are like a sitting duck. You are on defensive trying to hold every one behind you, while the people behind you can try anything to get ahead of you. Just my thoughts on that. Guest TheDeerHunter
Re: Just a thought. (Dale Jr. and points) That is a good point man. Last weekend during his speech in victory lane he seemed so care free and just worrying about one race at a time. And I think that is the way to be and not worry about so much about the championship and just have fun. He sure seemed like he was havin fun and put a smile on my face. texastrophies
Re: Just a thought. (Dale Jr. and points) The first 25 point docking was pretty much erased when the points were reset for the C4C. You would have to go back and see if the 25 points would have gained him any positions after the 26th race. If it would have then it would only be worth 5 points per position gained. slugshooter
Re: Just a thought. (Dale Jr. and points) True, that first 25 points would make no difference, only if it would have kept him out of the chase. If he loses by less than 25 points, well, I can bet you he will watch his potty mouth a little closer.
Chrud
Re: Just a thought. (Dale Jr. and points) I copied this from my reply in the "I'm So Sad" post. _______________ The Atlanta crash wasn't what I was refering to. I mean the Talladega incident. I got to thinking. Maybe, just maybe, Junior doesn't deserve the championship this year. I can't believe I just typed that. He swore at Talladega (-25). Add that, and now he is 22 points behind Kurt Busch. Say he hung on and finished, well, give him 5th at Atlanta, drop him just a couple spots. Plus, say he finishes 20th at Martinsville. He would be about 108 points ahead in the standings. If Junior doesn't win the championship, it's his own fault. By the way, even if he still got 33rd at M-Ville, he'd be 69 points ahead. (Dale Jr. and points) I guess the 25 points really wouldn't have mattered, but good point TT and Chrud. Although, I think that if he won he then deserved it because he must've done something right.
