Good Wisconsin Buck- and a guys first wallhanger!

On my trip to Iowa this year, my dad was telling me about a friend from work who had taken his frst big buck. Dave Pulvemaker has been a friend of my father's for many years, I was friends with his daughter's, and he's been hunting for as long as I can remember. Dave never seemed to be able to put that "special" buck on the wall... just your typical basket buck or broken buck, but all of that changed the day after Thanksgiving this year.

The morning was quite foggy, so there wasn't any real rush to get to the stand. As a result, Dave chose to let light get a little better before heading out. En route to his stand, Dave spotted a "large" deer, down in the valley. He was only looking for some venison for the freezer, and he knew that this deer would fill the freezer well. Through the scope, he settled the crosshairs over the shoulder of the large animal, then squeezed. A solid hit, and the animal plummetted to the ground.

For Dave the excitement had begun- another successful year with meat in the freezer, but for the rest of us, the excitement begins when we realize what He had shot. As He approached his "animal" he began to realize why the deer appeared so large. This is Dave's largest buck ever. A mainframe 10 point with great symmetry. ISS > 23", G2's 12", G3's >10", main beams > 22" and bases in excess of 7", all in all a great deer to be the first one on the wall!
