Mirage
does shooting through mesh style blinds affect mechnical broadheads such as the spitfires??
Born2Hunt
Re: Hunting from a Blind? Someone I know said it does not effect his broadheads but I would like to see it for myself.
Chrud
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I believe the tag inside my Ameristep blind says that mechanical broadheads aren't recommended for shooting through mesh.

Mirage
Re: Hunting from a Blind? i guess i could go back to fixed heads for hunting in a blind next year. Its the ameristep doghouse and need to order the window kits
Guest nebraskahunter
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I've practiced with fixed blades through mesh and it does affect my shooting after about 15 yards or so
VtBowhunter
Re: Hunting from a Blind? Yes, it will affect your arrows flight. Any mech. head with the L-shaped wing is not recommended for shooting through mesh window covers.
PAbowhunter86
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I would think that it would, if I am correct then splitefire boardhead are made to open on impact, When it would hit the mesh I would think that would make the boardhead open, this may affect the arrows path. HEAVIER_THAN_STEEL
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I tried it before bow season and it didnt effect my shot at all with my broadheads.
MossySNPR
Re: Hunting from a Blind? No it doesn't, I don't really think any type of mesh matters as long as its not the thick army style camo netting. I shoot through my mesh for turkey. Mirage
Re: Hunting from a Blind? i bought a doghouse blind and it came with little mesh windows but you can upgrade it to full window kit, so i would like to be on the ground for a hunt or two thanks to the unsheply tree on this on field edge
BowJoe
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I shot through my BrickHouse mesh and it didn't effect it at all because the mesh is so tight that it pulls apart instantly and makes a bigger hole than what was actually cut. I don't know how it effects MBH because I haven't shot one through it and I don't have a high speed camera in order to see if it clears out of the way fast enough or not. Guest Dub
Re: Hunting from a Blind? I wouldn't try it....may risk missing or wounding a good deer.....it's too easy to switch over to cut a good fixed blade for your gound work....find one that flies pretty true to your mechanicals and let it rock!!!! Guest ConchoMan
Re: Hunting from a Blind? Dont do it with a mechanical broadhead the mesh will open the blades and throw off the aqurraccy.
