buckee
I'm posting this for my friend Sandy, whom many of you know as "Peaches" in the chat room. This is her neice, Samantha and her nephew, Corey. By the way Sams buck is a 6 pointer and I challenge anyone to tell her different... What a team they make eh. BREAKING NEWS ***Samantha Porter*** Samantha got her first deer Sunday morning at 8am. She shot this 4 point buck with her brother's .223 deer rifle with a Red Dot scope. The deer was about 60 yards away when she made a perfect shot through the lungs. She was so excited to finally get one! She shot a nice big 10 point buck on Saturday morning, only for it to get away wounded. We tracked it for 6 hours and finally gave up. ***Corey Porter*** Corey finally got one with HORNS! We thought we'd try a new treestand on Saturday evening, so we got up there about 3:15pm, spent some time getting the stand ready, then finally got all situated about 3:30pm. We sat there for about 30 minutes and here comes this buck and a doe. We watched them for a few minutes and then Corey made a perfect shot through the lungs. He was very excited because the deer jumped straight up and kicked just like they do on the hunting videos. Corey shot his deer with his New England single shot .223 with a Red Dot scope. Youth hunting season is a big thing in Missouri. There's nothing like taking a kid deer hunting. A frustrating at times, but just as exciting as hunting by yourself! Our regular deer season starts this coming weekend. Hopefully, we'll have more pictures to send next week. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS, COREY & SAM

ladydiehard
Re: TWO young hunters, TWO big deer Congrats to both! How old are these kids? Its great that they are getting started young. They'll be hunters for life. I adopted a teenager a few years ago whose parents were non-hunters but he wanted to try it. His first deer was a 6 point and I was as excited as he was. Hes a young adult now and I'm looking for another "adoptee" at present.
