markyj987
You'd think it couldn't have gotten any worse for Wisconsin's 4th Congressional District. After reapportionment, we lost a district and our moderate liberal Congressman lost his job. We then inherited a far-left liberal. Now he's retiring. On election day, the morons in the liberal city of Milwaukee (who comprise most of the voters in the 4th CD), elected an ultra-far-left-racist-feminazi-tax-and-spend liberal named Gwen Moore. Anyway, her son, along with the son of our former acting mayor were arrested for their part in slashing tires on 20 cars and vans rented by the Republican Party for a get out the vote event on election day. You'd think in a fair-minded city that this would get a TON of press. It's gotten some, but seems to have been ignored over the blind excitement that we're sending our first African-American to Congress. I thought the Democrats were the "party of tolerance." Well the spawn of two politicians here have shown that they are merely street thugs. Get this--according to campaign finance records, street thug #1 (Gwen Moore's son, Sowante Ajumoke Omokunde A/K/A Supreme Solar Allah, age 25) still lives with his mother! The father of street thug #2, former acting mayor Marvin Pratt led Kerry's campaign in Milwaukee. Where's the outrage? What about the people who were "disenfranchised" because they couldn't take advantage of the GOP's get out the vote drive? Of course, nothing will really happen to these people--or their cohorts who were out-of-state Kerry supporters because of the liberal-loving DA and liberal judges, but it makes me sick. Though I think an example should be made of these people, my money says that they will NOT get any jail time. ----------------------------- Representative-elect's son arrested in tire slashings By JOHN DIEDRICH Posted: Nov. 5, 2004 The 25-year-old son of newly elected congresswoman Gwen Moore was arrested Friday by Milwaukee police and later released in connection with the election day slashing of tires on 20 vans and cars rented by the Republican Party, according to police records. Sowande Ajumoke Omokunde, also known as Supreme Solar Allah, arrived at the Milwaukee police administration building Friday morning with his attorney, was arrested at 9 a.m. and held in the police holding facility for several hours before being released, according to records. Omokunde is one of three suspects who had been arrested as of late Friday. Opel E. Simmons III, 33, a veteran Democratic Party activist from Virginia, was arrested Tuesday and released Thursday without being charged. A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday afternoon in the same case, a police source said. Investigators want to talk to Michael Pratt, son of former acting Mayor Marvin Pratt, who led Sen. John Kerry's Milwaukee campaign, but have not summoned him yet, police sources said. Michael Pratt could not be reached for comment. David Feiss, the Milwaukee County assistant district attorney who is handling the case, said he had not received any reports yet and the investigation is continuing. "There are a number of individuals, local and not local, who we are attempting to contact," Feiss said. He said several of the suspects have hired attorneys. After talking to suspects, police will release them, he said. If there are charges, Feiss said, their attorneys will be contacted to arrange for them to come to court. Omokunde, who lives with Moore, a Democrat elected to Congress on Tuesday, was not available for comment, according to a man who answered the phone at Moore's home. Omokunde's attorney, Robin Shellow, said he was booked by police and released, but declined to comment further. Shellow said she called police to arrange for Omokunde to come in. "If the police are looking for one's client, you pick up the phone and say (to police), 'What would you like us to do, and how could we make your job easier?' . . . That's the way responsible families handle it." On Tuesday morning, 27 tires on 20 cars and vans rented by the Republican Party to carry voters to the polls were slashed. The vehicles were parked in the 7100 block of W. Capitol Drive. A security guard reported seeing a man running from the scene that morning, police said. Tuesday night, police arrested Simmons, who was in town drumming up support for the Kerry campaign.
bulldawg
Re: Our new Congresswoman--and her son I was kind of wondering about Moore. Not looking good for your area again. I vote for a person based on merit, and what kind of job I think they will do. One good thing for the Democrats in this state is that thier leader is now Senator Judy Robson. I have contacted her about a few issues in this area, and she has expressed her views and actually helped to get things accomplished, when she could. I like where she stands on some things, but same as anyone else, there are some issues that make me wonder. Overall though, she's pretty good at what she does. slugshooter
Re: Our new Congresswoman--and her son Unfortunately it seems like her kids are thugs( or wannabe thugs) who weren't taught responsibility, which of course falls back on her and the father. I don't know why so much is made about the actions of politicians kids anyway, Bush's daughters are lushes, so what, I bet they'd be fun to party with, regardless of who their daddy is, Chelsea never had any problems, Reagans daughter was a whack job, didn't Gore's kid get picked up for DUI or something. If politicians had to pay the price for the actions of their kids none of them would get elected, kids are kids, and sometimes it doesn't matter what kind of values you instill in them, it all comes down to how responsible they want to be and if they want to act like idiots they will. Of course, how old are these guys, 20's or so, some of them never grow up do they, it's the same mentality that caused people to deface the signs during the election, and we had a rash of those around here, on both sides. Stupid, just stupid.
Chrud
Re: Our new Congresswoman--and her son I heard that on the radio on election day. A lot of people were talking about it all over town. The main town that I spend a lot of time in is only about 8500 people max. This year, more than ever, there were all kinds of political sings out, I would say more Bush signs than Kerry signs. A lot of times, Senator sponsors will stand on the main corner (45 and 5th) with signs. Tom Tiffany supporters did on election day. Actually, Tom himself stopped in my mom's store. That was pretty cool. Anyway, my point in that is the extreme difference in big cities to small little towns. Nothing like that would happen in our town. There are people that get at each other, but not so bad and no groups slashing tires. Even Kerry supporters in our town were like "what the heck are those people doing" when they heard about it. Actually, myself and three buddies were in a resturant when it came on the radio. It got quiet and then a big "what in the hel!" I don't think I could handle it in a big city like Milwaukee or Waukesha. Especially in voting season.
