Tominator
Went out for a pheasant yesterday with my son. We kicked 2 rabbits out, but no pheasants, so as I approached the truck, I unloaded. I was carrying my Benelli Montefeltro, and when I extracted my first shell and closed the bolt, I noticed it closed on the sluggish side. It was cold, like probably in the teens, so I figured that's why. I keep that gun extremely clean, so I know the bolt isn't gummed up or anything. I will say I haven't used that gun in extreme cold yet this fall, I keep the bolt pretty clean as far as lubrication is concerned during dove season. Long story short, , is there a special type of lubrication made for the inertia recoil bolts in cold weather? Thanks.
AJ
Re: Question on Lubrication Like I have stated before I use Slip 2000 in my guns. They are synthetic so they don't sludge up at low temps. The lubricant works from -130 degrees F to 1,250 degrees F. Unlike petroleum lubricants, SLIP 2000 doesn't become tacky or harden. It's great stuff. Its replacing Break Free SLP as the military's cleaner/lube of choice.
ZooBear
Re: Question on Lubrication I use very little lube on my Super 90. I love Slip 2000 or I also use G-96.
