Thank you...

Though there are several days throughout the year on which we recognize those who protected, fought, and sacrificed for this greatest bastian of freedom, we should keep it in mind every day.

Freedom doesn't come free. We won it by fighting for it, and kept it by fighting for it for well over 200 years now.

To all veterans and active military, thank you for your service. Thank you as well to your families for their strength, resolve, and sacrifices as well.

Everyone else, please make sure you say thank you to veterans--and just not on Veterans' Day, Memorial Day, and the 4th of July.

About two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet a Vietnam Veteran. Though I know several, I could see tears in his eyes when I simply thanked him. He suffered numerous injuries in that war and showed me his scars from shrapnel and other wounds.

What made me proud above all was this. Despite his injuries, he came home and continues to love this country. He would serve again without hesitation.

The people that serve in this nation's military are TRUE patriots. If it were not for them, I wouldn't be able to run my mouth about how much I love this country. Of course I love America, but THEIR actions by serving speak much more loudly than I ever could.

Thank you.
