Guest nuhf
i put in an all day hunt last saturday hoping to catch a buck moving in the middle of the day. i did not even see a deer the hole day. I was in a ground blind while was sitting there looking out the window i saw somthing fall out of the tree 10 feet in front of me. it was a rattlesnake eating a lizard. it was cool but i hated to see that rattle snakes were into climbing trees. Has anyone else ran into snakes this year while in the woods. oh yeh the snake is no longer around it was just a little to close to me. ladydiehard
Re: tree snake Rattlesnake in a tree? I've had water moccasins fall out of the trees but never a rattler. Eghads...yet another reason I prefer to hunt my home state of WI! Lots of cute harmless deer mice but no snakes...too cold.
Gator
Re: tree snake Just what I wanted to hear, a story of a Rattler in a tree down in Ga, and I'm going there in a couple of weeks. Geez, I can't get away from them!!! I have dealt with copperheads all year!
wtnhunt
Re: tree snake Have seen a few this fall and it is warm enough they are still out here. I remember a few years back climbing up into my stand and finding a shed skin on the seat of my ladder stand.

slugshooter
Re: tree snake Come to NC, we have Rattlers, Copperheads and Water Moccasins, although I see more copperheads than anything else I am not a big fan of the others. A buddy of mine has some pics of a rattler that he took care of after it struck him while he was Dove hunting, hit him on the boots but didn't penetrate. tedicast
Re: tree snake Oh man!!!...glad I don't live in "snake" country. Thats the one thing that could probaly stop me from deer hunting. I'm terrified of snakes. Give me single digit temps...gauranteed not to see a snake!...LOL
VermontHunter
Re: tree snake Lucky I live in Vermont. Not much here for poisonous snakes. Heck I would just throw ice cubes at em' this time of year...LOL
wtnhunt
Re: tree snake [ QUOTE ] I've never heard of rattlesnakes being in trees! [/ QUOTE ] If I am not mistaken timbler rattlers will climb. We are supposed to have em around here, and I have seen a few of them over the past several years, but mostly see cottonmouths and copperheads. The cottonmouths definitely will climb. Have seen them hanging on limbs over the river before.
