AJ
What kind of gun/load are you using? I shoot the 250 gr SST/Shockwave in my Savage going 2500 fps and I have not had problems with it's performance. I really can't see a standard ML even using 3 pellets not getting pass through on chest shots. The bonded version does hold together better as jacket and core do not separate as easily. AJ
Re: TC Shockwave Bonded Bullets? I don't know what to tell you. My data with these bullets does not match yours. Shooting a light load like that would give you 1800 - 1900 fps (2f or 3f). They should act almost like a solid at that speed. They should expand slightly but I don't understand why they are fragging. Are your shots in brush or hitting objects prior to hitting the deer?
archerjg
Re: TC Shockwave Bonded Bullets? I shoot two 777 pellets (100 grains) with the 250 grain Shockwave and the deer I shot last year was a complete pass through with a very good blood trail. The exit hole was probably close to 2" in diameter. I have had good luck with them so far. I did buy some bonded shockwaves to try this year though. bwlacy
Re: TC Shockwave Bonded Bullets? I have had mixed results with the shochwaves. Saturday I shot 2 deer with those bullets. The first one was at about 80 yards, slightly quartering to me. The bullet hit the shoulder blade then followed it up and came out just below the spine on the other side with little expansion. I had to track that deer all morning and shoot it again. Finally put it down around 11:00, it was first shot at 7:45. The second deer was broadside about 50 yards. Shot behind the shoulder, the bullet entered behind the shoulder and took out both lungs and the top of the heart with about a 2 inch exit hole. The blood trail was good and she only went about 30 yards. I was wondering if when those bullets hit on an angle maybe the yellow plastic tip doesn't get pushed into the bullet straight and then you get weird results. I know I won't be shooting them next year. Still searching for a good bullet with consistent performance from every shot.
