AJ
That's easy, IMO, the best bullets made for a typical muzzleloader are the Dead Center or the QT40 sabots from Precision Rifle. They are extremely accurate, give a great blood trail, do adequate damage without being excessive, and have a high BC for good, long range performance. I have used these bullets on deer from 3 yards out to 150 yards and they work extremely well.
Guest RandyWakeman
Re: BEST BULLET If it was that easy. Of course, bullets that are not acceptable accurate out of an individual muzzleloader all tend to work the same. The most impressive bullet of late I've tried is not a "muzzleloading" bullet at all-- but the Barnes 275 gr. XPB #45105 matched to an MMP HPH-12 sabot. Worthy of your consideration. Guest coop2564
Re: BEST BULLET Try the barnes spitfires you'll like what happens. You can save money buying the barnes sabot instead of the knight version. Same bullet knight just adds some price in.

SaskMan
Re: BEST BULLET Take it from someone who's shot a couple 300lb whitetails with a smokepole. Barnes expanders 300 grain, nothing else holds a candle.
Guest coop2564
Re: BEST BULLET Shot a long horn spike this morning with the 285gr Barnes spitfire. This is best ML bullet on the market in my opinon. Its a pointed boattail that expands like the flatpoint Xpander. It cant come apart like some other bullets and the copper petals are like razors. You just have to shoot it to see how accurate it is. All 3 of my ML's gave me my best groups ever with this bullet and 90grs t7 3f.
SaskMan
Re: BEST BULLET crimsonking, I haven't shot anything with accuracy and groups as good as the barnes. The sst's are junk in my opinion!

DannoBoone1
Re: BEST BULLET [ QUOTE ] I use 200gr Dead Center's and have been real happy with the results out of my Encore. [/ QUOTE ] In past years, I had very good terminal performance with the 200DC but had to limit my shots to less than 100yds because I could not get much better than 3" groups at that range. What accuracy do you get with what load out of your Encore? I have a 26" and a 28" barrel for mine, and they shot about the same groups.
