Good evening hunt. (pics)

A buddy of mine and I had a great hunt this evening. We were suppose to hunt this morning before work but he had to cancel. He came down to my office around 1:00 and asked if I wanted to go this evening. Well I live about an hour from work and then another 45 minutes from my house to where we wanted to hunt. I told him I probably couldn’t go because it would be well after 3:00 before I could even come close to hunting. From work the hunting spot is only about 35 minutes away. He suggested I borrow one of his guns, some clothes, waders, shells, etc, etc. I agreed and off we went.

We could shoot 6 ducks each but we only had one box of shells between the two of us. The first duck came in and I took it with a single shot. The next duck came in and he took it with a single shot. Then we had a pair of gadwalls come in and we both pulled the trigger once and killed both ducks. We were 4 for 4 with 8 ducks and 21 shells to go...boy were we bragging. grin.gif Needless to say our shooting went down hill somewhat from there...especially on those pesky little greenwing teal. tongue.gif Anyway, later in the hunt we had 11 ducks with one shell left. A single gadwall came in and my buddy downed it with our only remaining shell. shocked.gif It was a hunt that we’ll talk about for years. grin.gif

8 gadwalls, 2 greenwing teal, 1 drake mallard, and 1 hen mallard.

Yeah, I noticed the missed call on my cell. Call me if you want to hunt next week. I'll be off for the next 2 weeks and plan on doing some damage while there's less hunters on the river.

We killed these ducks around North Sauty and you should have seen all the teal that came in right at dark. We were done by 4:15 and packed everything up and watched from a distance. There were teal falling in there 40-50 at a time. It got to the point where they had to hoover over the spot just to find a spot to land. cool.gif
