Guest flatwoodhunter
Re: quiet rifle no they can't stop me and i am doing everything legal, but not just the neighbors but my wife gets a little mad when she gets waken up by a gun shot at 6 0'clock in the morning. i wouldn't mind getting a quiet rifle. less pressure on my heard to. wtnhunt
Re: quiet rifle Welcome to the forums. Never heard of a quiet deer rifle. An alternative might be to try to bow hunt.
AJ
Re: quiet rifle You can always pay the $200 fee (plus actual gun/barrel cost) and get a supressed gun. A 300 Whisper with 220 gr bullets is deadly on deer out to 100 yards. They will not hear the gun go off as long as you keep the bullets subsonic. Chrud
Re: quiet rifle [ QUOTE ] How many deer are you shooting that it is becoming a problem???...lol [/ QUOTE ] LOL! My brother shoots a .260. It is a pretty nice gun, I might even consider one someday. It is still loud, but it isn't that loud. It would be a lot quieter than a 7 Mag. Just an example, but my .30-06 is a "boom". My brother's .260 is more of a "zip".
muggs
Re: quiet rifle saying quiet rifle is a lot like saying tall midget. But I know what ya mean. Try bowhunting, I think you might find a new hobby, but if that's not your thing, like Chrud said, a smaller caliber like a .270 or .260 would be better than the 7mm, but then again, what wouldn't. Guest Finn
Re: quiet rifle [ QUOTE ] what are you doing in bed that late during deer season anyway???? [/ QUOTE ] Mainly, I'd be ticked because my wife would then wake up and I'd catch heck from her about the neighbor.
johnf
Re: quiet rifle Unless I'm wrong here, the smaller the caliber the quieter. I would go down to a 243 or maybe even a 223 if it's legal. The 223 is very quiet compared to the 7mm.
