I believe I would spend the extra $20.00 dollars and get the VX-I. The VX-I has a more accurate friction dial and has more coatings on the lenses. I have a Leupold 2-7 power X 33mm on my Browning Gold Deer Shotgun Slug and it works fine. Just bought another one for my Remington M-673 Guide Rifle.
